one thing i’ve been considering is adding the ‘99 springs front and rear. Anyone do this to their 2WD 3rd gen and care to share their experience? Thanks!
New to this forums thing, but here is my 1999 Limited v6 trail toy. Just put it on ToyTec/Bilsteins 3" kit. Really enjoying it so far. 450,000 miles and still running strong!
That's awesome, where I live (Buffalo, NY) vehicles completely rot out before we can even dream about getting that kinda mileage.
Have been stalking the forums for years. Last year I purchased a bone stock 2007 SR5 V8 Black. ended up selling it this year because a great opportunity to purchase a 2007 Sport V8 provided itself. Since this wasn't my build, I'm really in the maintenance mode for this vehicle. Have replaced the spark plugs, timing belt, water pump. changed out the gear oil on the front/rear diff and tran case and now working on getting the front suspensions refurbished. Ultimately building this runner to handle PR climate & conditions
Been occasionally checking out these forums over the last year or so for inspiration for my 2006 4Runner Sport. It's totally stock as of now, but I'm hoping to change that pretty soon!
Would love any advice or recommendations for things like a lift kit, new wheels and tires, and a new audio system. Thanks!

Love the wheels and tires in your photo! What are they?
Howdy y’all. Just picked up a ‘99 4Runner and looking for places to reference to help fix her up. Loving it so far, so much more utility than my Civic. She needs a face lift though (literally!). Might be my project this upcoming weekend.
Enjoyed working on a Gen 3 base 5 SPD for a few years. Pics to follow. Current project a GEN2 LTD 5spd 4WD. Ride is fantastic but 3.0 V-6 is underpowered.
Happy to have come into a 4th gen and meet you all and the forum. Trying to upload an image of the 4th and 5th gens we now have but keeps failing.
Anyway thanks everyone for the useful info about these kick ass trucks!
Another new guy that is into car audio and has a 2013 4runner
Hey guys I am new to the forum and have joined to gain more knowledge on the 2013 4runner. I will be installing 2 15 inch subs in it and making some big electrical changes to support a 5000watt and 2000watt amp. Also liking the four runner a lot and may buy a new model in the future. The new TRD models are sleekkkkkkkk
Awesome to see such a wide range of people in the 4runner community to this day (guess i've been living under a rock ha).
I'm the owner of 2 4runners a 95 and 97. 97 runs like a dream after a headgasket rebuild at the beginning of this year. The 95 has been in my shop d/t transmission issues/swap from a 92 pickup. That's my main reason for signing up here lol.
One of the more impressive things that I have noticed about the GEN 3's is the quality of the cloth interiors. Never a big fan of cloth interiors, but these GEN 3 interiors have proven to be extremely durable, showing minimum wear after 20+ years of use and weathering.
