New hereó2020 TRD OR and 2000 SR5

I always come here for info about my rigs and thought it was time to join. I (now my son) have a 2000 SR5 4wd with 120k mi and the last of the 5 speed gearbox. Itís got a mild lift and is great on the trail.

The newest add to our garage is a2020 TRD OR with upgrades for overlanding.

We mostly explore CA, NV, and OR but look forward to extending our range.

Whatsup guys! I just purchased a 2wd 4th gen 4runner. It has 198k miles and I am looking forward to this ownership experience! Yes I know its not a 4wd, but I didnt need that. This is mainly gnna be my grocery getter and just a reliable daily.

I am coming from a Toyota Supra that I have been using as a daily for 6 months now, so I am glad I picked this thing up and adding to my fleet!

Another Noob

Been lurking and reading posts that led me to a purchase of a 2000 4runner Limited with 250K.

Just did an all OME lift, 881, 890 and 60028 combo and just got me some AGP wheels wrapped in Falken 285/70R17 just this afternoon.

Tomorrow I am heading to get an alignment first thing in the morning. Came out with a whole lot of +camber after the lift. The ride was way better than the stock suspension but it pulls right.

Anyway, Hello to everyone, my name is Loco.

Plastic Tabs or Stops in 2017 T4R back seat?

Greetings Forum,

First time poster.

2017 4Runner SR5, just returned from a 3,200-mile trip to Colorado and found these plastic "stops" on the second seat floorboard. Looks like one is broken, and the other dislodged.
Do any of you knowledgeable members have any idea what they are, and where to purchase new ones?
Thanks for your assistance.
JRB

Post #1 - all I want to do is ask a question about the heater core in my 95 4R but the 'gurus' can't figure out how to control bots etc w/o a 15 posting (even though I can't post) rule.
* here's how you keep the bots away;
- post an image, of whatever you like, with a question that relates to it. Then if the HUMAN gets it right, they are a HUMAN ! Simple. No need for CAPTCHA, which IMHO doesn't work very well, if it works at all. I've been in the Network Security way too long. Stuff like this is child's play, if a person wants it to be.
Another, related way to tell if a person is a person, is to make a graphic with a math problem in it, like if an oject is moving at .25c (that's speed of light for you bots) what is the associated time dilation or if you like click on the correct Energy if the mass is 1kg. Simple to keep bots away. Captcha doesn't work (well) because it's images are very vague, and many times no one, not even with a magnifying glass, can you tell which images are correct to select. For example, I just got the Captcha, click on all images with a bunny in front of rocks. But, guess what, there were NO bunnies in front of rocks, the bunnies were all behind the rocks. So, I guess the moral of the story here is don't give a boy a man's job.

I recently read Mark Twain's Prince & The Pauper. This was my 2nd time reading it as I own the book. I've also read his Connecticut Yankee... book, twice if not 3 times.
MT (SC) is a great author. His writing makes a point, very clearly, precisely, with as few words as possible. But, his goal in writing is not to be brief, but his choice of words and sentence structure leads to a very efficent sentence, or paragraph.
And most of his works, if not all, contain many moral guidances, which a few folks in WashDC ought to take note of. This is not politics but pointing out that even those who claim to be at the top of US society, can IMHO brarely read or write. They do not deserve such positions.
If you have any free time at all, also read his book "Adventures Westwarcd" or something to that effect. It contains some wonderful insight into like and people in what was called the Sandwich Islands, hawaii etc.

1st gen new owner

Just got a 1st gen and I bought it knowing there weren't doors. I live in the snow, which is the reason I wanted it(4x4), and I'm thinking its gonna be cold come winter. My thoughts were to DIY soft doors for it. I already purchased waterproof vinyl and marine clear material as well as automotive snap buttons. But as I started to sew the doors I realized they are pretty flimsy and will most definitely be noisy as I drive. So I am hoping to get some insight/thoughts/ideas on how to make them a little sturdier without breaking my bank. Thanks in advance

Hi

I have lurked on this site for years but have never posted. So I thought I would say hi.

My first ever car was a green 94 SR5 which I sadly brought to its demise at 185k miles by rolling it at age 17. That thing was so sweet. My penance was having to drive a Cavalier for the rest of HS. I then had a 2000 Tacoma for 8 years before transitioning to a 2004 Sport Edition that I had for 11 years and probably never should have let go of!

After being out of a Toyota for a few years I have jumped back in with a 2016 Trail Edition. Feels so good to be back. It's interesting to see the things that have changed over 3 generations and the things that have not. I don't really off-road much and won't be modding it heavily. My plan for this is to see just how long I can make it last. I have decided to do as much of the general maintenance as I can on this one myself and this board has been infinitely helpful so far. Especially the pipe cleaner trick on the squeaky engine mudguards!

Need to post 15 times to in order to post my problem. What a dumb way to stop spammers. Have a 98 4runner that I need some insight on.

I'd go to a salvage yard and pic up some doors off a wrecked one. Probably cheaper and easier to get some warmth.

What a dumb rule. I registered so I could post my issue, not to litter random posts with comments.

Nice rig!

Cool New Member From Sweden

Hello to you 4R-People! I'm new to the forum and I 've owned my Green 2nd Gen (A classic apparently, I can accept that) 4-Runner -92, with the 3VZ-E, for a couple of months now, and I think it is awesome! It's certainly not the prettiest, although I love the look of the front on the older Toyotas. My plan is to put as much time as I can into freshening it up. I already have a couple things to fix such as giving the stock stereo unit a break (I want BT), fixing a stuck odometer, and finding a way to replace the non existing tailgate window.

(Let's hope that I did the image upload correctly [I did not but managed to fix it with an edit :] )

Great to see all of your nice 4Rs in here!
