Good Morning
Hello Everyone,
I have been a member for a few months now and would just like to thank the Founders, Moderators, and members for all the hard work that goes into this site. It is INVALUABLE!! I have learned more about my 4R than any other vehicle I've owned.
Mods are in the planning for my LE now that I have done some research on here.
Thanks Very Much!!

Hi everyone, I am John. I just bought my first 4Runner but I have always liked these trucks. I ended up with an 04 SR5 V6 4WD which is frankly pretty rough haha. It just turned 200k miles and although it runs great it has quite a few problems that I am going to fix. Its originally from NY so its seen some salty winter roads and it has quite a bit of rust. The frame is good mostly, the body only has a few small rust spots, but some other items are pretty rusty and will need to be repaired/replaced.
1. Needs brakes F&R. I am hoping I can get by with pads, rotors, and new hardware. I really don't want to buy any calipers
2. The AC doesn't hold a charge. I think its the compressor. I have added dye so we shall see.
3. The power steering pump leaks A LOT, hoping that is the only thing damaged
4. The window regulator for the tailgate is broken. The tab that goes to the glass broke on one side from rust.
5. The support struts for the liftgate are dead.
6. Backlighting on the HVAC controls are half out, replacing with some orange LEDs when they come in and hopefully they never go out again.
7. Wiper switch has a dead intermittent function. Thanks to this site I've learned its the little relay in the switch. I tested mine and its bad so I've ordered a new one and I'll solder that in when it comes in.
8. Drivers side sunvisor is broken and needs to be replaced.
There is probably more but I have already fixed some other things so I'll leave them off the list
Right now I am waiting on parts that I have ordered so I figure its a good time for me to research more about it. I have already been lurking around a bit while researching parts and repair information. I have seen so many valuable threads already. I can't wait to participate.

Back in the fold. After 20 years.
(fulfilling my post/reply requirements)
Not exactly an impulse purchase yesterday to get a new 2015 Trail Edition but I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I do.
After a decade of German Tanks, I went back to my roots and got another 4Runner.
20 years ago I was driving a (purchased new) '89 22RE Manual everything that is still probably on the road. The body started turning to swiss cheese and I craved more power and...well, everyone has a story how they ended up here.
But 4Runners rule. The forum is great. I'll try to give as much as I borrow.

New 2015 Trail Premium
Hey Guys, I just picked up a new 2015 Silver Trail Premium. Been lurking on this site for a couple of months checking things out and getting info to decide on which vehicle I wanted and though I've only owned my 4Runner for a week I've been very happy with my decision. Here are a few photos taken 2 days after purchase when I took it on the St. John 4x4 trail. Gray's and Torrey's (14er peaks) in the background of the second two photos.

Hello All,
I'm waiting on delivery of a 2015 TEP. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent on this forum learning about the 4runner and different mods that are possible. I'll post photos of my truck as soon as I can.
Thanks for all the info.

Hey all, picked up a '95 4Runner 3.0 4x4 with a manual transmission and 220k miles on the clock about a week and a half ago. Has coolant in the oil and a tiny bit of rust (I live in the rust belt, I'm surprised it doesn't have way more). Motor is already mostly torn apart, just waiting to tear the heads off before I order all the goodies to get it back up and running again! First order of business after it is running: get rid of those fugly wheels. I will start a build thread once I meet the 15 post minimum, but until then here is a quick pic from the day I picked her up.
