I am new to the whole 4Runner scene and am looking forward to finding out as much info and also getting some answer on best parts or at least others opinion on things.

Hello, I've been watching the forum for a while now and soaking up all the ideas to apply them to my 4Runner but I come here today to ask for help. I have posted a couple of times a question and like a noob I attempted to create my own thread which I've finally found out I cannot do. I apologize for that but let me throw out my problem and see if anyone has any suggestions, any help would be appreciated.

I have a 2007 SR5 silver and when I bought it half of the AC/control panel light was out. I have searched the forum and google and I have found answers but nothing that fits my issue specifically. So I ordered new lights from super bright leds and was just going to replace both the lights for the panel. I took it apart and replaced the bulbs with the leds, put it all back together and nothing, neither one lit up. I took it back apart and rotated them, put it back together and still nothing. I messed with it for a while and could never get them to light up so I was tired of messing with it and put the old bulbs back in and figured I'd mess with it later. Put the old bulbs back in and no lights. Took it apart, rotated them around and after messing with it for a while I still couldn't get a light. The panel works, I can see the information whether it's day or night (need a secondary light to see at night) nothing seems to be amiss except I cannot get those lights to work. Even the Reset, Mode and Airbag lights still work. I figure I will buy some new lights and try those but I am here to see if anyone has any suggestions? Admittedly, I’ve been a Subaru guy my whole life. I recently picked up a 3rd gen 4runner, and am planning on slowly turning it into an adventure rig.

I’m sure to be asking all the standard issue 3rd gen new owner questions!

Hi there everybody, my name is Matt and I'm an alcoholic... no not really.

I'm a 34 year old Army veteran who has just left the Fire Department to go to nursing school. With that drop in income I'm looking to buy a less expensive vehicle, and I'm pretty much set on a 4 runner, although I might have to go talk to those dirty heathens over at I8mud too.

I'd like to find something in decent condition and improve it just a bit while I have it. I've taken a look at the 3rd gen buying guide and man, I really appreciate the info!! I've got $5k-$7k to spend and have been scanning the classifieds here, Craigslist, and even car gurus.

I thought it might be a good idea to start to get to know you guys, plus you guys have toyo porn, so I always appreciate that.

Some of the things I'm interested in doing with a 4runner: Wilderness camping. Local group events. Restoring mechanical to best possible condition, with possible upgrades. Drawers/sleep platform in back. Heading toward a light overland type rig I think.

Some of the other things I'm interested in: Firearms, video games, good beer, and long walks on the beach.

Hi guys! Im a 22 year old 4Runner fanatic who has lurked here for years since I started falling in love with my dad's black 2005 4Runner. In college, he upgraded to a lexus and gave me his 4Runner. I am a proud owner and absolutely love it.

Since im a long time lurker, I haven't posted at all as I haven't felt worthy until now (also because I have front axle replacement questions).

I recently replaced those same lights on my SR5 2005 4Runner. You didn't get OEM lights? I have schematics with part numbers if you would like the same lights.

What might have happened to you (If i am reading it correctly) is that when removing the lights that were still working (Originals), the thread inside the bulb tore (They are delicate). That happened to me with one original light that was still working so I had to go to toyota dealership to buy another identical one.

Hi everyone,
Ive been poking around here for a while now and figured I should probably start making some posts.
I picked up a 2006 V6 Sport at the beginning of this month. Sadly I haven't gotten to do much with it yet as I still have a loaner from a dealer for another car that has been in the shop for 6+ months (long story) so I've been driving that instead for the time being as it gets almost double the gas mileage.
Hopefully it will snow here soon and Ill get to see if the new toy can do as well as my Subaru with Blizzaks

EDIT: I forgot to say this in the original post but I have been on many forums before for other stuff I've had in the fleet (Nissan 240, Subaru Legacy, Pontiac Firebird) and this is by a HUGE margin, the best, most informative, and nicest group of members I have come across!

Hi All! I'm new here, just bought a '15 SR5 a few months ago. This is my 3rd 4Runner as I've owned a 1st and 3rd Gen in the past. I'm based in Vancouver, BC.
