Both my Yotas need headlight upgrades. To research what works and doesn't was one of the main factors I looked for a 4Runner Forum. I also need to find a set of steps for the 4Runner. It is my wife's daily driver, she's short and has to hop up into the truck.

Have fun and stay safe. Thanks in advance for any input and advise.

Hey Timothy, Cam. New here too. I have a 2017 SR5 4Runner. I just got the Victory 4x4 Rock sliders/steps installed. They work as a step and a solid rock slider. They work for my wife. Not sure how much offroading you are planning on doing but they are great either way.

Hi guys,

So after couple years of search and savings here and there, I finally pulled the trigger on a 2005 Sport V6 4.0 with 140k on it.

I'm looking at doing a few upgrades and simple repairs on it.

The most obvious one is the foam pad on the driver seat collapsed and needs replacing. I've looked around the forum and it seems like an easy fix if putting in the time (+$200 for a new pad).

There is also a problem with the left rear brake light. It doesn't get brighter when the brake is engaged, so I'll have to figure out what's up.

I'm looking to put a touch screen in the dash for a more modern feel. Seems like people are going with the Pioneer models.

Also I'm looking to get a mpg gauge that would have some sort a visual cue that allows me to make gas adjustments in real time.
I know it is on all new toyotas and it really helps me when it comes to conserving gas efficiency.
Anybody would know of one that works this way?

Thanks guys!

Asking again, it's getting buried.

I haven't met my post minimum yet, but does anybody know about any weird pumping and then vibration when you use the break? Somebody said this may be related to air in the brake lines and some sort of brake assist thing.

Mine is an 04. I think it's limited.

Also, I messed up my skid plate, how much should it cost to get that replaced? I think I hit something.

Long time listener, first time caller

Hi there. New user. Long time lurker. Just threw a rod on my 4th Gen V8. Now I need to dive into the deep end with a full 2uz rebuild and will need some helpful feedback. Will be happy to return the favor.

This is my truck. And my kid. He's quickly surpassing my mechanical ability, which is useful. He works for tools.

Hey everyone. Just bought a 98 runner base (I believe). Has 105000 miles on it. 4 cyl 5 sp manual. I had a 97 Tacoma years ago that I loved and figured now that I have a family the runner would be a good rig. I don't do a lot of off-road anymore but do enjoy some woods trails occasionally.
Love this forum, it's already helped me out a ton doing the lower ball joints and fixing little nuances that bug me.
This weekend I'm doing the front lower control arm bushings and some frame painting. Also going to look into a whirring that comes when I start and shut off the truck that I think is the original antenna motor ( antenna had been replaced with a solid one). and other routine maintenance.

Looking forward to being on this forum!

Long time browser, first time poster. Finally pulled the trigger on a TRD Off Road Premium (wife needs heated seats and I'm not complaining). Coming from a 2004 Honda Element w/ 5 speed. Oh how I wish the 4Runners still came in stick! Have a SSO roof rack on the way and very excited to get that mounted up! Cheers!

What’s up! Owned my 99 Limited w/ locker for 2 weeks and the torque converter crapped the bed this morning. I was planning a nice intro post about how excited I was blah blah blah.... BUT, it’s hard to get pics when you lot truck is at the transmission shop (not gonna try a swap myself).

Anyways, when I get her back I’ll post my experience etc and include some pics. In the meantime, is anyone has a spare A340F with TC, lemme know! :-)

BTW, I was planning LBJ, Inner/outter tie rod and brake line/bleed service with the help of this forum. You guys rock for spending so much time writing up repairs etc. I’ve never seen such detailed, Freely given info....ever.

Here is me getting her off the transport truck:

Neither have I As far as brakes, could be your rotors are starting to wear uneven. But it could also be as you say, brake assist or the ABS kicking in. A video clip would help the best.

Nice. Do you have more pics? My wife's biggest complaint about me modding is that it will be harder for her to get in/out. I took that to mean I can now look at getting rock sliders

How do you like them so far? Do you feel they help with getting in/out or do you feel like they get in the way?
