Hi everyone, glad to be a member of the group. We are a father and son living in a suburb of Houston. I'm on my third Toyota, a '19 4Runner SR5 Premium 4WD, and we just bought my son's 1st car, a '98 4Runner SR5 4WD. He is ecstatic, as am I to start working on this new project.

Since bringing it home, we've been scouring the pages on this forum and selecting different mods and procedures we want to work on. First up will be the external transmission cooler, and the suspension definitely needs some attention all the way around. I've got a lot of questions on the suspension that I'm eager to find answers to.

Just wanted to drop a quick introduction and a few photos!!

hey guys, new to this forum so would really appreciate some guidance on where to look/what to search (or if you have the outright answer that'd be great too lol). I have a 3rd gen 4runner and I'm about to put a 3in bilstein/toytec lift kit on it. I want to put 285/75/16 tires on it. Will these fit without spacers/rubbing? Also, if they will fit, what offset is required? Thank you in advance!

Hello and thanks for the access. I just purchased a 5th Gen '19 Off Road. No experience off the pavement. Taking a class in a few weeks to see what I can do with the stock package. My first upgrades will be wheels/tires and maybe a lift. I don't want to void any warranties or screw up the KDSS etc. That's why I'm here. Looking forward to getting to the backcountry to hunt/fish/hike and camp.

Hi, my 2006 4Runner is all wheel drive. Question I’m wondering is how often should it be run in 4 wheel drive? I didn’t see anything in the manual.

Need advice! 2010 TE Salvage Title
Hi guys,
After selling my restored 1st gen a few years ago, i finally decided to pick up another 4runner. I purchased from Copart a 2010 trail edition with some front end damage (bumper, headlight, fender, etc.). I have bought/fixed/driven/sold salvage vehicles in the past, however I was unhappily surprised upon picking this one up that I need to replace some airbags as well...

Anyone have any advice on which parts I will need or where to start?? I know I will need some sensors/clockspring/etc?? Costs??

If it's all wheel drive then it's in 4WD all the time. If you have the selector knob/lever and there's a 2H then you have part time and it should be put into 4H for about 10 miles once a month according to the manual. Make sure it's on a slippery surface, (dirt, snow, wet) to allow for tire slip.
