New to forum

Howdy!

Just picked up a 1991 3.0 Automatic 4 Runner. Somewhat Ratchet-looking (as my kids have told me) but mechanically very sound. This was a 1 family truck before I took over guardianship. I plan to use it for MTB & camping trips to the Sierra and Mendo/Humboldt areas beginning next month. Currently looking for online resources for parts and advice and this forum looks like a great spot!

Cool New to this site! sayin hi!

Hey all!

Have always been a toyota enthusiast my whole life and finally picked up a 2002 4runner! it's in beautiful condition with 162k miles on it with a new tranny swap 10k ago. I live in SoCal and am building my rig to fit my surfing needs/ minimalist camping rig/ Daily Driver. I am honestly convinced the 3rd gen 4runner was the best car ever made. Only owned it a few months but it has proven its hardiness and build quality already! I have an instagram for it where I will be posting a little more than on here to log my daily work to restoring it to new and beyond, you can follow it @SoCalSurfRunner ! if you do, say ya saw me on here!

currently looking for a 3rd gen 4r rear tailgate/hatch complete as mine was recently vandalized by a random drunk person and I am looking to get my whole car body repainted! let me know if you are local and have one I could pick up. no dents but any color works!!!

How's it going guys? Made an account a few years back when I thought I was going to be picking up a 99 SR5 4Runner. Fast forward and I didn't get the opportunity but, with the recent acquisition of a much better paying job, I'm starting to crunch numbers and figure out which model/trim I want. I do want a 5th gen but I'm not sure on trim level. I don't want a Limited and I do want 4x4. How does everyone feel about the knob 4x4 selector? I won't be offroading all the time but the old soul in me tells me I want the lever selector but I'm not sure if that and some cool badging is worth going up to a TRD. Thoughts and opinions welcome!

I got the off road premium and I've been very happy with it. It's got all the gadgets and doesn't have chrome of a limited. Part of me wishes I got a Pro but I was dead set on a moonroof..

I went with a sr5 premium, but if you want the lever have to go with trail or off road if you don't want to move up to TRD

Yeah, that's what I was seeing. Just looking for opinions on the different trim levels and what kind of experience people have had with the knob selector. It just seems odd to me. My main goal is just to get a 4x4 5th gen with a sunroof and the cargo tray. All the extra bells and whistles would only be bonuses if I went with a TRD

Unfortunate decision? That would be Ford Edge for me...

First up...AT tires for off road use. Most likely stock size BFG Ko2 load C.

Hey folks! Raymond here! New to the forum and excited to become apart of the community. Loving my 2005 4Runner SR5. Only wish it was a 4x4. But she’s a beauty nonetheless.

I’m prepping for a trip from Southern California to Alaska in her! Looking into adding a rooftop cargo storage solution, some lights, and figuring out some blackout options for when sleeping inside on the the road!

Open to any and all suggestions and if anyone has and questions about what I learn or what I’m up to, feel free to message me!

Wow that’s bold. Definitely interested in from the prep stuff till the finish. Which roof rack are you looking at?

New here and looking for some insight.

I`ve got a 2008 T4R SR5 V6 with 151k miles. Just recently I've had the P0335 code (Crankshaft Position Sensor) come up. I saw that a low battery could be the issue so I had my battery and Alternator tested and found out the Alternator needed to be replaced. Got that swapped out and sure enough the code was thrown again, went and bought the sensor and replaced it and not even 10 miles down the road the code was thrown yet again. Im trying to figure out what exactly could be the cause of this or to see if anyone else has had this problem. I've checked all cables to make sure that there are none in contact with my belt as I`ve seen this as a cause for other T4R owners. Just recently picked up my T4R but have always been a fan of them just wanting to be able to start my journey with it without any more code issues.

Hi everyone. Joined the club a few weeks ago. Buying a 4Runner was one of my best car related decisions so far. Thanks for all of the nice guides you people post on this forum.
