I drive (part time) an 06 Suburban 4x4 with 150K and strong... so I get it. But, she had so many more options. Now we are here and just want to learn how to keep this car going as long as she needs it. We brought it home and had struts and shocks done first. Next will be a stereo fix.... needs some speakers and may upgrade the radio for 16 year old specs...... what do we need to know?
I have experience with 2 daughters driving high mileage cars. They both did a fine job listening for strange noises, watching gauges, ect. They were and still are easy on brakes, and acceleration. Train her to be a safe driver, keep good tires, pay attention to front end, steering/suspension parts, brakes. For the engine, throw some money at it to keep it from overheating (water pump, hoses, ect). OR train her to KEEP an eye on the temp gauge. If it rises at all, pull over and call for help. -Advice for any high mileage car/new driver combo!- Overheating I a killer.

Smile just sayin hi

It looks like my 4th 4R is the 2020. I've been lurking for a while and appreciate that there is a lot of experience and good info on this site. I'm going to buy after some other members go thru the intro pains of a slightly new model/version.

MY GARAGE
Been reading through some of the builds here, signed up awhile back and finally got around to poking through some of the other sections. I've owned my '04 4runner for about a year now, will roll over 200k miles tomorrow probably.

Hey guys! Hoping I can get some help in here since I can't post in regular boards yet. My rear-passenger window will roll down, but not up. It's actually stuck about 4" down. I'm going to try and wire it to get it back up, but I'm not sure where to even start on this.

The master switch at the driver's door does nothing (for this window, it works for everything else), the switch at the door rolls the window down, but not up.

Any suggestions on where to look to fix it or how to at least get the window rolled back up are appreciated.

Hello. Im the new guy. New to Toyota as well. Just got a 2016 SR5 Premium and already want more lift to fit 285's. The factory tires are 42k and will definately need to be replaced in the next 10-15k so need to jump on a lift quick.

Glad to be a part of this community. Bought a 4th Gen 2006 Limited V8 last month and couldn't be happier. Such a great vehicle. Lots of mods planned but this will be my daily driver.
