Finally picked up a 3rd gen after years of wanting one. Its a 1999 2wd with 195k miles that I will be using mainly as a surf vehicle. Doesn't need much work other than a few small items such as new strut assemblies on the rear door and a new lock assembly as well. Hoping to be done with those repairs in the next few days.

I purchased a 23 T4R ORP on April 11th this year. Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. Looking to gain some more knowledge of the 4R. My previous was a 2015 Taco TRD OR, and I sure do miss it. But the 4R is growing on me fast.

Hi everyone! I hope I am doing this right as this is my first time using a forum. I want to introduce myself. I’m Bobby. Yesterday I bought a 2019 SR5 4x4 4Runner! It is hard to express the joy, pride, excitement, and all the other positive emotions I am feeling with this milestone. For the last 10 years since separating from the military I have been battling combat related PTSD, depression, addiction, and homelessness.

I served 4 tours in my 11 years of active duty, and since separating have had all sorts of interesting jobs like commercial fishing, sewer rehabilitation, construction, pizza delivery, bar tending, and more. I now work in hospitality and am applying for GS positions with the VA. Yesterday I finally started to feel that I have gotten back on my feet. I now have a home, some belongings, a loving girlfriend (who’s awesome son also has a 4Runner), defeated my crippling addiction and depression, and bought a vehicle that I absolutely love.

I am very thrilled to join a forum, take up this amazing hobby, and be a part of the 4Runner community! Please feel free to say hello! I look forward to making friends here, learning, and sharing. I am living in the Sacramento California area and bought my 4Runner in Reno Nevada. My best friend had a 4Runner and wanted me to get one. He passed away last month but I am sure he is proud of me if he is watching over me from a cloud in the sky.

I just want to post about how to orient my clutch on 5vz

Hi all,

my name is Dennis. Although I’ve been around Toyotas/4Runners a lot of my life, I’ve never dropped the hammer and owned one. Very recently bought my first 4Runner; a 2004 Sport 4.7 V8. I work at a Toyota dealership so taking full advantage of the parts and/or labor discounts where I can. It’s a high mileage (bought @289K) clean rig, but not knowing the history I had the timing belt and water pump done. Needed some power steering repairs. Replacing some weatherstripping/spark plugs and other miscellaneous items. So cool to find Toyota still stocks some of this stuff for a 20 year old rig! For now I’m putting on Rough Country new shocks/struts (has the X-REAS suspension system) front and rear, M1 upgrade & front coil over 2 inch lift. Will run 275/70R17s with new 2023 Toyota take off wheels from TRD Pro. I got them for a STEAL as new takeoffs from my dealership! Excited to be a part of this group, to be a new 4Runner owner and learn and share on this forum from y’all!!!

Hi all. Long-time lurker here.
I'm the fourth owner of a 225,000 mile '02 Limited, and I love this little truck.
Mostly use this for camping trips with my young kids.
I'm in the Northeast, so trails arent too gnarly, but I dream of making some big trips out west when the kids are older (and my offroad skills a little more polished)
My truck has its usual run of east coast rust, but it came to me in a pretty un-touched state. I'm pretty sure the sparkplugs hadn't been changed in its 22 years of existence.
I've been doing maintenance, replacing bushings, cleaning up the frame, and fixing electrical connections. And put some Moog '99 talls on there along with Bilstein 5100s. I'm going to have some suspension questions when I get past my post minimum.

Wanted one of these trucks for a while, and I'm smitten.
