The search for 4runner is almost over so I figured it was time to join. We are in Colorado to visit family and part of the trip is to take home a corrosion free vehicle.

Learned a bunch here already which will help me to make a sound purchase, and look forward to learning more as time goes on.

Found this place for all the wrong reasons. The insurance company just totaled my 1998 4Runner 2.7L that up until the incident was all set to go another 250k miles. Can't stomach sending it to the scrap yard with just front end damage so looking at this site to either help bring it back to life or find her a new home.

I don't disagree but I think it's going to be too much for me. Airbags went off and I've got bigger fish to fry. One of the best cars I've owned and I have the 97 Tacoma with the same motor. Will find someone who's stoked on it.

Hello, just closed on an 05' Sport, Black with charcoal interior, 112k miles. I have been lurking and reading this forum for a few months to make sure I knew what I had to watch out for. It's already been a huge help like - I didn't know about being able to log into the Toyota system to see the work done at dealerships in detail. Which is why I was a nervous wreck when I found my runner. I caught it before it hit the sales lot and nagged the heck out of the sales guy for pics of everything. I didn't want to miss this one. I wasn't quick enough on a couple of other gems, but good fortune and patience paid off. The maintenance record is impeccable, the two previous owners had 100% of the work done at dealerships and they were religious on fluid changes and general maintenance, etc... Frame has some rust, but nothing a wirewheel brush on angle grinder and some Eastwood rust coatings won't fix.

I go to pick it up this Saturday and will post up a pic. Pretty straightforward plans for it, mild lift( new springs and shocks, not spacers), bigger tires, typical stuff, and just making it ultra reliable. I'm fortunate in that it's more of a toy for me and not my main transportation, so it will go to my son in a few years when he's driving. It will see some 4wheeling duties for sure!

I'm looking for something lightweight I can put on top of my Baja flat rack to create a more stable platform to stand on or sleep on. Currently it's a bunch of tubes running the width of it. I would like to find something that I could attach in 4-5 sections that isn't too heavy either. Any ideas here?

I am new to the forum and the Hilux 3.0 turbo diesel. I was looking under the hood and saw a relay for a fuel heater. How does it operate? Do you turn it on somehow? I don’t see a switch inside the cab anywhere. If anyone has any info in this please help. We are in northern Indiana and it gets chilly here to say the least. Also any suggestions on an engine block heater would be great.

Hey guys, just picked up my SR5. Located in Indianapolis and cant wait to start the mods on the new Runner!

I've always been a sports car guy, but once I started commuting in my Runner, IDK that I can go back to a sports car for a daily.
These roads are hellish.

New user in Florida, Ive owned my 2006 4runner for about 8 years now. Came here to get much needed info on keeping her running and looking good.

New here from San Diego! Just bought a 2002 4runner sr5 4x4 about 4 month ago. It’s pretty much stock with 2016 Tacoma wheels and some pod lights.

Anyways, FINALLY bought my 4runner.
My first Toyota, my first 4runner, my first off-road car; ever. I've been fan boying from a distance for a while. Excited to learn as much as I can and have a hell of a lot of fun in the process/build/adventures.

Finally got my first 4Runner. A beautiful '16 Limited. Hoping to get some ideas here for making is more than parking lot warrior, while not making it look like I'm going to Baja . Super excited!
