Hi huys/gals,

I have been a member here for about a year, but never introduced myself. My name is Chris and I live out in West Texas. Last year snagged a 2019 TRD Offroad and have been enjoying the ride ever since!

Need help identifying trim levels
Brand new first time owner of a 2015 4runner. It was listed as a trail but I do not believe it is. It has no hood scoop and no dials for Crawl or multi terrain. I pulled a vin report and from Iseecars this is the description,'2015 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 Trail 4dr SUV'. On the Toyota site it states it is a '2015 4Runner SR5.

Pulled the trigger
Well bought my first 4runner today. Real clean besides some normal rust and the rad support will need some attention.

Got it from the original owner, 2004 sport with 87k for $7,000.

The front struts are worn so they will have to go, the axles are leaking and besides that I will go through and change all the fluids, plugs etc etc this spring. fluids are looking good though.

This guy still had the second set of keys in the little bag they came in and the window sticker. Really nice guy no bs s*** he even gave me $50 towards the Uber ride I took back down to him and let me drive it home with his plates.

What I can't believe is it still has the original battery!!! Its 16 years old. I guess Panasonic knows how to make a battery!

Look forward to learning more about them and maybe doing some slight mods but important stuff first.

I see that a lot especially when the dealers aren’t Toyota dealers. There’s so many differences between sr5 and trail. Dial or lever 4x4 shift? Light grey or body coloured front/back bumper valences? Not all sr5s have the third row. But especially if it doesn’t have all the extra 4x4 options it won’t be a trail

Also hello all! Recently bought a 2014 SR5, only minor updates so far but looking forward to doing more asap! It’s my daily so can’t go too crazy but it’ll be fun I’m sure. Had a Tacoma but needed the space for the growing family!

The dealer was a Acura dealer. I have a dial with H2 H4 L4, runner is all same color Silver. Only the top on bumper is vinyl black pad, and I do have a sliding cargo tray in rear. Maybe I can ask for a $500 dollar check in return for false advertising, but since they sold it for what they paid for it, $21,000, and has 85,000 miles on it, I might not what the hassle. Still worth more in book value.

First time 4Runner owner here. I finally pulled the trigger and traded my 2006 Pathfinder for a silver 2012 SR5 with 77k miles for 22k out the door. FYI, I've wanted a 4 Runner since I was a kid!

I am a first timer also. I was looking for reliability, 4 wheel drive and the fact that you sit high up makes it a blast to drive. Thinking of adding running boards, are they an easy do it yourself and do people recommend them? I can do basic stuff like brake jobs, ecm replacements, ect. Anyones thoughts are appreciated.
