Howdy

New guy here, obviously. Just got a 2020 Venture. Looking forward to finding ways to utilize this forum and avoid the trolls, which appear to be plentiful. Ugh, the internet.

Good Morning!

First time 4runner owner!

I purchased a 2003 4runner limited.

I would like to post some questions in the forum but don't access.

If someone could grant me access I would appreciate it.

Thank you!

Hi, I am a new member here and have a question about my 4runner.
It’s a 1999 limited 4wd. I have a problem with vacuum going to the front diff. I traced the vacuum lines from the VSV to the front diff where the vacuum hoses slip on to metal nipples on top of the diff. The problem is the metal nipples are rusted through and are about ready to break off and I can’t find a part umber or a decent diagram for it.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Been lurking here so long I thought I was already a member I've got a 3rd gen (99) SR5 4x4 w/ ~ 315k that is mostly stock save for some 5th Gen rims. Looking to get started on the process of creating something really cool for the impending apocalypse.

New member and new 4R owner in the greater Kansas City, KS area. (GO CHIEFS!) After some previous experience with a few Toyota models (relatives, friends, etc), when it came time for a new vehicle I decided to look for a 4Runner. My step mom has a 2008 SR5 4Runner, I was so impressed after driving and riding in it that I was sold on what I wanted. After WEEKS AND WEEKS of searching, the right 4Runner came along.

2006 4Runner Sport Edition 200,000 miles on the clock, Galactic Gray Mica, JBL Synthesis. She’s not the prettiest thing on the road but with some elbow grease I’m sure I can polish her up. It is mechanically sound and feels tight as a drum still. It will need some body work, thankfully I have a paint & body guy. I consider myself mechanically savvy and not really scared to get elbow deep in modifications and repairs but I do not do body work.

Now that I have joined the 4Runner family, I’ve been burning the candle at both ends on this forum website learning everything I can about the 4th generation 4Runner. I have really enjoyed the forum so far and have seen a lot of great write ups. Looking forward to learning more and getting started on really making this 4Runner my own. First things first, giving it the once over and starting my service records. Unfortunately there were not any service records that came with the vehicle, so all fluids will be changed, all filters changed and with this many miles on the clock it’s time to start looking at all the bushings and seeing what needs replaced... with upgrades of course. I’ve also really enjoyed some detailing videos on YouTube recently, so I’m gonna try my hand at bringing the interior back to life. It’s not terrible in there but you can tell it was neglected. Alongside the interior detail, a new head unit is in order and the parts are already on order from Crutchfield. In place of the dreadful aftermarket Alpine that I’m hoping was not hacked in, a Sony XAV-AX1000. I’ve had this unit for a while and really enjoy it. After reading some of the other write ups, I’m sure I will enjoy it even more in the 4Runner. A pair of Kicker 41DSC654 will be in the front doors. Other mods will come soon enough but these are existing things I can put in now. More research on the forums will help point me in the right direction.

If anyone has advice or any questions, feel free to reach out to me. I’m eager to learn and ready to listen. Thanks for letting me ramble.

new member

I have a 2001 4runner 2wd base model as my daily driver with 240k on it. I have done tires, brakes, battery, and shocks. On the to do list is ball joints, a new stereo, and wiring for a UHF VHF two way radio. Thanks!

Been a lurker for a while. Purchased a 03 V6 Sport about 2 years ago. Just passed 250k today and am still trying to right all the wrongs of the previous owner and install mods.
Stuck in between pulling the trigger on a 14-20 TRDOR or keep working on this one.

Thanks!

Long time lurker who finally decided to join up today. I own a 2016 trail and have enjoyed my Toyota journey so far. I formerly was a wrangler owner but needed something a bit more practical as the wife and I are planning a family. I spent years in California (im gone now, miss some parts of Cali but am glad to be gone) offroading all over the high desert. I still love jeeps but have grown to love my 4runner just as much.

Not much in the way of upgrades yet as my wife asked me to wait until I make it into a monster truck haha. Have swapped the stock tires for BFG K02 in 275 and am planning a minor suspension upgrade here soon. I also have a Gobi rack ordered that will hopefully be here by May. Looking forward to interacting here and learning more about my 4runner.

Always browsing and never posting for a couple years now. The write ups found here are second to none.

Howdy fellas. I've been a Toyota fan since I bought my 06 DC Tundra 11 years ago. I got sick and tired of working on my wife's Honda Odyssey, so we set out to replace it with a Toyota. 4Runners have always been a dream vehicle, but too expensive. We eventually decided that it was worth the investment. We made a deal on a 2wd 2013 SR5 in white. We've had it a week and it's been great, but being 7 years old and having 112k miles, it has some quirks. I plan to have it for many years to come like my tundra, so Ill be here a while. Look forward to learning from y'all.
