My goal with all of this is to do it in a clean and minimally intrusive way so that I can effectively restore to near factory conditions if I so desire. Hence this idea of cutting wires and crimping headers on them so I can plug them together if desired.

The only physical additions I would make at the moment is perhaps a plow/front grill with tow cable and some jerry can racks. Though that seems easy enough to find.

I will say that one thing I find annoying is that the dashboard display puts a lot of standard driving data on different screens which requires you flip between. I don't know if that display system will be easy to replace since its tied directly into system ECU's on the bus.

I'm brand new to the forum and also the brand new owner of a 1999 4Runner Limited. It has about 130k miles on it and runs pretty good from what I can tell.

Thanks to all the previous members here for sharing such a wealth of information. I have plenty of stuff to learn about the 4runner as well as how to navigate the forum here. I hope I don't annoy too many people.

First job is to get the hood cleaned up and a few interior issues like the torn leather seats. I'll start off by going to the junk yard tomorrow first thing in the morning to see if I can find any goodies.

I look forward to sharing what I learn but right now its mostly going to be learning from you guys/gals.

I picked it up with only the 2H working on it. The 4H and 4L do not engage. I have been researching possible fixes. Yet to try anything yet. Looking to find folks who have had experience with this issue and any workaround fixes.

Just purchased a 07 V6 4x4 100K very clean no rust runs great however 4wheel drive is not functioning. I will most likely take this one out to Colorado. Looking for some shared knowledge. Thanks in advance. Rick

Bought my 97 4 Runner almost a year ago. Just purchased my first mod tonight. Front and rear bumpers and an OME lift to support the bumpers. I’ll post a build thread when everything gets here.

Hey everyone, I'm not actually an owner yet. I am basically just upping my post count to 15 so that I can ask for some helpful hits in the 3rd gen forum.

I've been into Jeeps for the last 10 years or so, and have done my share of builds...I've been hunting for an FJ(Z) for like 2 years, but haven't found an affordable one that isn't rusted to the core so I've decided to get in the market for a 3rd gen 4runner. I've got a lead on a 5speed with 120,5xx on the clock for a very very reasonable price and am interested in any and all comments folks my have on the vehicle or on 4runners in general.

Hello all, purchased our first Toyota, a 21 TRD Premium. I am still waiting to find out if a front winch bumper will void any warranty. The only bumper I can find is one from Southern Style Offroad. Any input would be appreciated
