Hello everyone.
I am hoping to become a first time owner of a 4Runner soon, I have been searching for a 4th Gen for the past month.

Currently looking for a 2006-2009 V6 SE under 150K Miles, under 9K, would anyone advise going SR5 or Limited if I find a lower mileage, or better rust/frame condition one? SE tend to be 1-2K more expensive in my searches. Would you value trim, mileage, or rust/body condition the most? Currently debating:

  1. 2006 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition --- 147,000 / $9,995.00
  2. 2007 Toyota 4Runner SR5 --- 147,000 / $7,995.00
  3. 2006 Toyota 4Runner SR5 --- 121,000 / $10,050.00
  4. 2006 Toyota 4Runner Limited --- 159,000 / $9,200.00
  5. 2006 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition --- 169,000 / $8,995

Thanks!

New here

Hey all. Been browsing this forum for a few years now, makes sense to join since I've been utilizing it as much as I have for the last year or so. Been overlanding for a solid year now and as more projects, ideas and run-ins pop up, support is definitely helpful. I've owned a Dark Green 96' Limited 4Runner for years and have only recently started to modify it as I never really drove the thing (crazy, I know). And as turbulent as last year was, I decided living on the road was an option for me that I could afford to do and really commit to if I put the time in to outfitting my truck properly. This past year taught me a lot that I needed to know as far as my set up -- what works, what doesn't -- and I now have a space for the winter and downtime to correct all of those things that didn't work and elaborate on the things that do. I'm fortunate to have a place for the winter with garage space so I'll be doing as much as I can until heading back out sometime in early April. That's essentially it, hoping to find some solid support through this for years to come. Thanks in advance.

Bought my first 4 runner back in December, we purchased it for a camping vehicle we can take long distance (my old junk truck was sketchy just going 30 miles a way).
Hopefully it treats us well.
2008 with 187k miles on it currently

Got a silver beauty

Picked up a new 2021 KDSS Off Road Premium after realizing I couldn't, with good conscious, take my X5 to the places I wanted to go. I miss the gadgets the BMW came with (especially the heated steering wheel) but this 4Runner takes me places!

Working towards building an Overlander-style rig with a minor lift, some armor, and other niceties. There's a road in Utah called Elephant Hill that set the standard for me. If I can get my 4runner through that with no body damage (unlike my Ram), camp out for a week, and get back home, that equals success for me.

This forum is a great resource to have, glad to have the ability to research and discuss the 4Runner with other like-minded folks.

Hello from Montana

Just picked up a 2019 Limited yesterday! Gained a lot of valuable knowledge from the forum before making a purchase. Hope to be able to contribute to this fine forum.

Hello all and happy to be here.

I recently picked up a 2000 SR5 4wd Auto with 155k miles for my wifes daily and a weekend toy for me. I'm still going through the truck and identifying issues that need to be resolved (of which there are a few). I'm hoping to tap into the wealth of expertise here and contribute in any way I can.

I'm no stranger to wrenching or off roading however this is my first Toyota. I think Scotty Kilmer would approve.

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum but have been browsing and gawking for quite a while now. I had previously owned a 98' Limited which i managed to wrap around a tree...sad day...finally I found another runner in awesome shape. 2004 Limited with 165k.

Excited to be back in a 4th gen now and I've been looking to put in some upgrades. It came with a bilstein 5100 set up but I'm not sure what type of springs it has, so finding out will be my first mission!

Hi everyone. I've decided to buy a 4Runner, and seeing as this is the best resource there is, might as well create an account and get my start here. Endless hours of research awaits!
