Well, me thinks you have a pretty decent uncle. I started in about 1965 with a '58 Ford Fairlaine convertible that I shared with my brother. It had been a family car. When the rusty body slid off going around a corner, we were forced to "sell it" (I don't remember getting any actual cash!) and it became a sawmill in Vermont for a family that heated with wood. Then my uncle and godfather sold me his old '55 Buick Special for $50.00 and I drove that for several years despite it's very leaky transmission. I moved on to a '65 Austin Healey 3000 that I drove into the ground and then a '72 Datsun 510 (my first new car), also driven into the ground.
I wish I have been able to keep any or all of those first four cars. After that, it was descent to the mundane for 35 or 40 years. Then in about 2006, I said to hell with that and went back to reliving my youth. I picked up a '04 Honda S2000 as a tribute car tor the '65 Austin Healey. Then about 2009, I bought a '59 MGA and started racing that with a vintage racecar club. Then about 2017, I bought a '57 Volvo PV444. And now I've bought a 2nd gen Toyota 4 Runner.
I'm creaky and old but trying to be young. My advice to you - enjoy the car. Keep your eye on the ball. Work hard on your studies. Double down and get a good education while you are still young. Get a job that pays money - every dirty, unpleasant job leads to something better if well done. And always remember your uncle!
