wondering how are your CVs doing with 3 inch lift. How long has it been since you have them? I am 2.5, hesitant to go to 3

This forum has been absolutely invaluable thanks to the many years of generous information sharing by the great people here. I will continue to wear out the search function, ask questions when that fails and hopefully contribute lessons-learned.

No need for any upgrades. You've reached peak performance with the PS emulator.

Thanks! You're right, I haven't seen many 4th gens in white, either.
But then again this is the rust belt, so I don't see a lot of surviving 4th gens, anyway.
Fortunately this one doesn't have a rust problem, and I plan to keep it that way.

For all new members, you can say hi here, please dont litter other threadsa
Drove 3 hours this morning to Terre Haute, IN and bought a 2014 4Runner Limited with 76,6xx miles for $29,3xx.xx. That price includes a 6 year, 150,000 mile (so ~73,000 miles left) warranty. I searched several websites for a few weeks and this was the best deal I could find for 2014+. Other dealerships wanted the same price or more for ones with nearly double the miles! It only has a couple minor body issues (dings, scratches, etc.) but the Bridgestone tires are dry rotting, so I’m guessing they’re probably the factory tires.

Good to meet you all!
Hi all,
I’m Ryan and have owned a 5th gen and now a 3rd gen. I’ve been a member for some time now and have found the info on this forum invaluable. I decided I better start posting my build thread for my 1999 3rd gen to give back. I look forward to interacting with you all!

Looks great! Congrats on the purchase. My wife has a 2018 Blizzard Pearl Limited. Absolutely beautiful 4Runner with a much better ride than my 2019 SR5P.

New to the family
Hey all,
Just put a deposit down on a 21 SR5P, can't wait. Should be in port in a couple of weeks and in town a couple of weeks after that.

My wife and I have had a 2010 4Runner for the last 7 years and will be upgrading with a fresh 2021 at the end of July. I've used message boards for my cars but now that she has the customization bug as well, we're both out here searching, researching, and spending money we don't have yet

Is there a dedicated section for Limited models? A lot of info I'm trying to search for (tires, headlights, front grille, etc.) and most of the results I'm getting are for non-Limited models, which doesn't help me. (2014 Limited here)

Intro from Katy, TX
Not positive how this works, where I'm supposed to post my first reply or why I can't ask questions till I have 15 replies, but here we go.
Hello everybody, My name is Robert and I'm a Yotaholic. It's been 17 years in the making.
This is a sad day for us. My 04 Runner doesn't run anymore. After 267k glorious miles the radiator lost all it's coolant and committed the heinous act of murder to my otherwise perfectly running engine. I hang my head in shame for falling off the preventive maintenance wagon and not noticing the slow water leak in which lead to this tragic loss of life.
But life goes on and having search high and low I'm now installing a used salvage engine in it that has 156k on it. It's not an easy task to find a low mileage engine from a 17 year old Yota. Took me buying three and returning two before I finally found a good one. The first one had bad compression. The second had a badly rusted cylinder. This third one seems ok. With one exception. After removing the valve/cam covers I noticed some varnishing. My guess is poor maintenance lending to irregular oil changes. I'm hoping it'll be fine.
In preparation prior to installing it I've installed an Aisin TKT-021 timing belt kit, cam seals, valve/cam cover gaskets. Afterwords I'll install a new radiator, 180* thermostat, new hoses and drive belt. Also since the engine is out and it'll be easier to get to I'm rebuilding the rack and pinion, replacing the inner and outer tie rods and the pressure hose.
If all goes well it should drive like a new 4R. OK, maybe not like a new one but at least as good as it did before this tragedy occurred.
That's all folks. Feel free to give advice, ask questions or whatever keeps your Yota juices going.

I had heard that they had some spam issues awhile back. 15 seems a little excessive, but it's a free board and they get to make the rules. I suggest just looking through posts you're familiar with and chiming in on anything you know about. You'll hit 15 in no time! Welcome!

Hey all! After many years of admiration for these rigs I finally took the step and purchased a 1st gen 4runner! I've had "Henry" about 8 months now and it's been a long journey but we will see where it takes me. Hoping to gain some knowledge and seek a bit of guidance from you all here!
