Hello everybody! I’m a total gear head, owned and messed with all variety of vehicles, but I’m actually brand new to the Toyota family. Just got a 1993 4Runner with only 158k miles a couple weeks ago, and I love it so far! Mine has most of the stuff you want to see, 4x4, 5 speed manual, aftermarket radio with aux input. Automatic hubs which I think aren’t super popular, but I like them so far. Brand new tires, brakes, and timing belt from the previous owner.
The only issue with my new daily is it’s got the 3.slow - and holy vacuum lines, Batman! I’ve never worked on something with such an absurd number of vacuum tubes. Luckily, most of them seem to be connected, so I’ve ordered some brand new lines and I’m gonna start replacing all the old ones one at a time, as well as a general tune up. Then I’ll be doing the entire front end and cleaning/tracking down all the leaks (there’sa few). Overall though, really happy to finally have a 4Runner!
Hey everybody, I just signed up to the forum after buying a 2018 4Runner. I am looking to get started with a few mods, I am a super basic DIY guy so any suggestions on products for the following mods that fit my capabilities would be appreciated!
Head/Screen - the OEM screen is pretty tiny
Rock Guards
Hood protector
Snow chains
If these are already covered pretty well in another thread please be so kind as to share the links. Thanks!
Hello! Long time Land Cruiser and 4Runner fan. Realized I couldn't afford a house in Austin, so I bought the next best thing, a 2022 TRD OFFROAD w/KDSS.
Picked it up in Southern Co, drove it to Austin, Tx. 1/2 way through my trip I started to encounter alignment issues. Hoping this beast isn't a lemon. Haven't even taken it off pavement yet. Had an alignment done in Lubbock, Tx and then in Round Rock, Tx. Both shops say the truck is fine, but that's 2 alignments in under 1k miles (paved roads only).
Hey everybody! Just joined the 4Runner family recently. Flew from Texas to San Diego to buy a 1999 5-speed sight unseen to drive back to Texas. It had one previous owner and is in excellent condition. She may be old, but I'm already loving the "new" car!
Looking forward to seeing all y'all's builds out there!
