New to this forum, but not to 4Runners. I've had mine for almost 19 years. Nothing special, just a 1997 Limited 2WD, but it was my first car at 16, so I'm irrationally attached to it. Please be gentle... 😅

Hello.. new to the forum and thought I would say hello. I purchased a Tacoma in 2005 (TRD Offroad) and drove it for 19 years (303,500 miles) before I was rear ended by a new 17 year old driver. I was at a stop and was hit at about 30 mph. $14k worth of damage and it was a write off. Got $10k for it though from the insurance company. Ended up putting that $10k on a 2023 4Runner TRD OffRoad with 18k miles on it. Accident happened at the beginning of April and I've been driving the 4Runner since the beginning of this month.

The choice between a new Tacoma or 4Runner took a while but I'm very happy with the 4Runner so far. Planning on doing moderate amount of mods for some potential overland adventures. Looking forward to gathering information from the 4Runner experienced here and sharing some of my own experience.

FS. 2002 4 Runner. 98,000 miles. I’m the original owner. (I’m 70 years old) California car. Excellent condition, but in no way pristine.
Primarily used to go from Bay Area to Tahoe. I used my 1968 Power Wagon for serious wheeling…. Owned it for 50 years. Clean Carfax Zero modifications, other than stereo and soundproofing doors. When I was physically able I did all the maintenance… oil changes religiously, 3k……can’t do it anymore. Was going to have timing belt done but figured I’ll let the next person do it. I take car of my cars/motorcycles…69 Norton Commando, 69 911 Porsche.
This is a clean, well taken care of, solid, low mileage 4Runner. Photo doesn’t do it justice…it’s clean, just not washed right now. Was in Mountains last week.

The “bucket” underneath the rig is for setting my “.Ring” motion detection to keep the dirtbags from stealing my cat….. shame we have to do things like that today….
