GoodieKev here.
Back to the forum with a new project. I scooped an '85 4Runner in Roanoke, VA on Thursday, 10/29/2020. 4X4, manual, red, all stock except some horrid aluminum wheels. I did talk the seller into letting me take the original steelies.
Off the bat:
The good - It starts, drives, shifts well, solid feeling clutch, and 4X4 works.
The not so good - It does not stop well. Rear brake cylinder is more or less the tip of a funnel for brake fluid. I have not explored the rest of the brakes yet. The power steering is either low on fluid or in need of repair.
The rest - Body and interior as expected. The engine bay is fairly clean and looks to have some newer replacements.
Getting brakes in order is the first to-do item. Progress will be updated in the appropriate sub.
Here are a few pics.
Good to be back -
