That’s what I have and I wouldn’t want it any higher that’s for sure. If you aren’t at least 5’10” you’ll want some sort of running boards if you decide to lift it, but I’d recommend taking off the clunky stock ones for sure. Other than those things, I’d say try to customize it because there’s a lot of 4runner’s out there so make this one stand out!

That's awesome! I love driving it, the way the dash and gauges look, it just feels immediately familiar even though it's almost 20 years old!
Thanks for the info on the lifts and tires! That's good intel to know that that's how far to push it. At the moment, I've got 2" in the front and 2.5" in the back as my new-to-this-mods-game lift, which thankfully gets me to all the campsites that I never could reach with my 2003 sedan. And got 32s, but now thinkin' I should've gotten 33s! I use it as my daily driver too now and got nervous when people wrote about tire rubbing/having to cut out pieces in that area to accommodate.
You're so right about trying to make it stand out, it's going to be fun trying to figure out further what to do (so many 3rd gen Runners in CO!
) Cheers!
