HELP!!!! I let my baby down...
Finally joining the forum!
Hello all and sorry for the cry for help.
I have a Natural White 04 Limited V8 with 245K. She's NEVER had issues, oil changes, brakes and regular PM only. Along comes COVID and boom she has a rough idle.
Sprayed starter fluid, idle smoothed out. I smoked tested it and found a serious leak around the lower intake manifolds. Cleaned the top of the engine, blew of all the debris I could with my compressor and opened her up.
Confirmed the gaskets were shot, covered up the intakes and ordered the parts.
Opened hood to install the gaskets a few hours ago and found the towel blown away from the intakes. We had a few storm fronts with 50mph winds go buy. Just to be safe, I went to advance auto and bought an inspection camera to check it out and said a few choice words. I let my baby down, dirt and sand particles have blown into the driver side intakes.
My plan is:
1 Shop vac, large hose then smaller hose,
2 Compressed air blasts & small hose vac again,
3 Scope again, repeat 1 & 2 until clear.
4 Pull the fuel pump relay turn over a few times and hopefully let the valves exhaust stroke push any residual out.
I'm going to do 1,2 &3 now, 4 has me nervous, should I do anything else or something different?
