Hi thennen, thanks, it is the Venture Edition. I was originally going to just get the Premium, but the wife saw this one and fell in love. I'm especially happy it has the black wheels as I've seen them in Gunmetal and while nice, the black really looks good against the white.

How did you get your venture with Black wheels? I ordered mine and the dealership says they would paint them for me.. the Gun Metal. IT sounded cheap and I am not sure I am going to do it.
So did you specifically request the black rims or it just happened?

What made you choose the Venture?

Hi James, I was originally just going to go with the premium - dragged the wife to the dealership yesterday to look at them and she gravitated right towards the venture. She also liked the Nightshade, but that one’s a little too much $. I only had it on the highway for a few minutes and I didn’t notice any noise. That said, the rack looks fairly easy to remove, but it weighs 35 pounds and it’s size makes it a bit awkward so probably a 2 man/woman job. Do I like it? Well, I wouldn’t have ordered it, but it looks ok and it does add more luggage/cargo carrying capability so there’s that.

I was actually surprised that it had the black wheels from the TRD Pro as all, or most of the photos I could find online showed the gunmetal wheels. I read somewhere that Toyota ran out of the gunmetal so they started using the black, to our benefit. Just did a quick online search and they really aren’t too expensive

That said, when I got to the dealer to test drive it and I saw it had the black wheels, it was a wrap (snapped this pic and sent it to my wife). Maybe yours will come in with the black? Don’t know that I would want them to paint them.

If you look at the Toyota website (image below), it states that the 2021 Venture comes with black wheels. While shopping for mine (2021 with black wheels), I definitely saw several 2021s that still had the gunmetal but I'm thinking they just used up the last of that stock before switching over.

I wouldn't be surprised if yours shows up with black wheels, despite what the sales guy told you. I had several sales people assure me that the 2021 Venture came with gunmetal just because they are used to the 2020 and not as informed as you'd expect them to be about the 2021 changes.
