I've always wanted a 4runner and I finally have one on the way... 2021 4runner Venture.
I'm looking to learn more about the most current generation of the 4runner and what people are doing with them. I have some specific newbie questions so maybe I can get those answered.
It’s been like that for a while now, I got mine last year and it was either put a deposit down for what is in transit or place an order and wait with a potential price premium. I bought mine right off the delivery truck without a test drive because someone canceled that day.
Welcome, I’m a new member too. I bought a 2000 4runner for my daughter back in 2007. I’ve always loved it. She bought a 2021 Tundra in April and I got the runner back and I’m having a blast with it.
I look forward to learning about upgrades and figuring out my A/T problem.
This is my third car since college. First, was a 1993 240SX owned for 7 years, the second was a 2001 C320 Mercedes I drove for 16 years and had to let go due to repair that exceeds the car's value. I was talked into buying a used vehicle just to get around. I went out with the intent to buy a Toyota Highlander and happened upon this vehicle that I immediately noticed and felt drawn to a white 2007 SR5 6CYL 4X2 with 171K miles.
I had exhausted other options that day, intent on buying a car. The market is tight for good quality used vehicles, so I feel lucky and really surprised at how much I enjoy the truck.
Thankfully, the only thing wrong with it was replacement tires and a valve cover gasket. Im going to replace the factory sound system and narrowed down the options to either a Nakamichi or a Pioneer. Happy to hear your suggestions.
From what I read, the engineering and assembly is excellent in Japan and this configuration is perhaps the least expensive to maintain. Overall, this was a great find and happy to be a part of this very dedicated community.
Great to hear! The newest 4Runner I've driven is a 2010. My daily driver is a 1998, it's getting to the point where it needs more maintenance (switches wear out, etc) but I love it just the same and plan on keeping it going for another 20 years. You'll be able to drive that 2021 for a long time!
