After two years I can say that the Rubicon is an awesome off road vehicle. It is crazy capable and inspires confidence.

Unfortunately, it has been plagued with oil leaks, AC issues, radiator issues and other things needing repairs.

My brother-in-law had a JK that had some A/C issues as well.

I'm actually right behind you! JKU Rubicon owner for 4 years, but finally looking to move on a 4runner soon. There are certain things I love about the Rubicon, but certainly some things I won't miss. Luckily, it sounds like I had better luck mechanically with mine. No major issues in 4 years, but also I'm a pretty low mileage driver. I work from home with no commuting miles.

Wranglers are cool and I wouldn't mind sitting in one with friends while off-roading. Owning one on the other hand...

100% My first and only Toyota so far was an 87 4x4 pickup. 22R up front and plenty of rust all around. However, in the years I had it, only a wheel bearing and alternator at 220k miles were replaced. It was sent off to the south to perform duty as a maintenance vehicle for a property management company. Then it went out to a farm and I believe it is still alive and kicking.

I'm hoping the new Toyotas are every bit as legendary.

Our Cherokee was the absolute worst car we've ever had (Repairs cost more than the payments!)!! Got 2019 SR5 and never looked back.

You're only regret will not be moving into the light sooner!

I’m reminded of an old saying, “Show me a smoking hot woman and I’ll show you some guy who’s tired of her sh@#”

So the last barrage of repairs have made up my mind and I’m looking to make a deal soon on a TRD Off Road.

Thought I would get my 15 post minimum in and introduce myself as I’m sure I will want to post soon when I get my new ride.
Same thing happened to me. Mine blew the rear main seal and was “hemorrhaging oil” per the dealer.

In the same boat....2018 JK.

Extremely loud and a terrible ride on road.

After the 4runner test drive, this vehicle is "luxury" in comparison.
