Ordering a New TRD ORP 2022 Which Color??
Hello all on T4R!
My name is Mike, I'm from the Wichita, KS. area. I've owned a 2002 4Runner Sport 4X4, should have never sold her. It had a 3" Toytec lift I installed, had a blast with it. Now I've discovered so many trails and areas to take a 4Runner through ON-X or Gaia, YouTube has me excited, my wife is excited to run some trails with me. So, I'm trading in my 2019 Accord for a 2022 TRD Off Road Premium but, I'm stuck between 2 colors. If I knew how to start a poll for this thread I would lol. Edit: I figured out the Poll!
The 2 Color Dilemma:
-Nautical Blue Metallic, this color pops. The dealership had one, look brilliant in the sunlight.
-Lunar Rock! I know this was an exclusive color on the Pro's, but now its available on the ORP's. The dealer has one coming in next week for me to look at. I'll have to decide then...
Any inputs or advice I would appreciate, I look forward to meeting folks and learning on this awesome Forum!
-Mike

Haven't seen a T4R in Lunar Rock yet but that would be distinctive since there aren't many of those on the road. Look at them both...it's totally personal preference. I bet that LR one will be gone fast though.

"Pics or it didn't happen."
PS No contest to me, the blue looks great. I only chose silver for mine because I thought it would stay cooler here in SD and because it wouldn't show the dirt so much.

Speaking as a Detailer for a Toyota dealer, I can assure you that they're both beautiful colors. The blue is drop dead gorgeous when detailed and maintained properly. The grey is harder to get to "pop," but a beautiful color in its own right.
Here's the big rub though. As good as both colors look, the grey will be much easier to take care of in the long run because the blue will show absolutely every defect. People love it when I detail their dark colored vehicles, but the beauty only lasts about 5 miles down the road as dust covers everything. Then they get tempted to simply "dry wipe" it off and the downward spiral has begun.

Yeah I though about this, excellent point. I’m waiting for the dealer to get a Lunar Rock vehicle in so I can look at it to make sure I like it. Thanks for the response.

I'm ordering the same thing in lunar rock. I would like to lift it an inch or two, not sure how the KDSS will respond to that?

That would look amazing! Are you going for bigger tires and suspension lift kits?

I would like to raise the front 2" and the back 1" and have the wheels more flush with the fenders. I'm still new here so waiting for the post count to start a help thread for a slight lift and tire offset.
Aside from that I would like to upgrade to King shocks in a couple of years. If Magnusson figures out the new '20+ 4Runners software I would love a super charger if the overtime at work is good.
Essentially an Off-Road in lunar rock subtly turned into a PRO clone without the basket.

Update,
I went to the dealer today to order one, but due to the chip shortage and the Toyota plant shutting down, the dealership isn’t allowing anyone to order new ones currently. I called a few other dealers and they all had the same story. So I guess we are all in a waiting pattern

The local dealership had a Lunar Rock Tundra TRD Pro come in (it was an order), so Lunar Rock it is for us. Whenever we can order one that is!
