Back in a 4Runner... didn't take long ;) Pic attached

Traded our 04' Ltd Pacific Blue (loved that color) for a Rx330 earlier this year... nothing to tow, not much hunting... ect... ect. As much as I really liked the Rx I missed the 4Runner withing a few days. We picked up a boat a few weeks back so I started shopping to get back into a 4Runner again.

Picked up a 06' Shadow Mica Ltd V-8 Friday about 225 miles from home... NICE to be back! Made 3 stops with my daughter to eat and shop and I still got 20.5 mpg (actual / computer read 21.5) which surprised me. I'm assuming I'll see 18-19ish on the hwy most days which I can live with. My 04' had the V6 which was fantastic but this V-8 is it! I'd never knock the V-6 because it's a phenominal match but the V-8 is sweeeeeet!

It'll get new rubber shortly... I had Cooper ATR's on the 04' which looked good and was an absolute bargain for that tire. Had Revo's on other vehicles and I'm leaning that way again since the ATR's are no longer available. The Hankooks AT's look good with good reviews.... I'll keep digging through the old threads for more tire info.

All the best!!

Welcome back! I am on 4R #2 myself, and also went for the V8 this time. MPG I am pretty happy with it so far about 17 in the city and 21 hwy if I behave. The Revo 1 are not being made anymore so they have come down in price for OEM fitments. I do miss the top mount oil filter though...

Thanks Chris... I had the 4.0 in my last 4Runner... Different, more grunt, buy mostly and amazingly it simply has a MUCH more refined feel when you hit the gas.

Thanks GMZ... that's fantastic mileage... I just caught that regarding the REVO's last night. I liked the look of the Revo a tiny bit more than the Revo2 in pics. The Hankook ATM RF10 look like a really good tire. The Cooper ATR's and Revo's were incredibly quiet on the road.... I don't know if the Hankooks can over that quietness with the tread pattern.... but for the money, I'm leaning towards those. The Revo2's are $100 off right now (with a Visa credit back) which puts them close in price...

Good to see you choose another 4Runner! Pacific Blue is my favorite color on the Land Cruiser. Loving your new one. What size boat will you be towing?

It's not huge... 21'. But by the time we're loaded down we'll be pushing 4000-4500 lbs with it. The 4Runner pulls it with very little effort. Glad to be back...

Beautiful ride!!!

That is an awesome looking 4runner! Bought a 2006 v6 in a clips red, loved the look....lately the clear coating is peeling....if I was younger, I'd have it painted, but this late in life I just enjoy the comfort and capability of it....rsbhunter

Very nice! Jealous of that V8, but I totally get the desired to stay in a 4Runner. Our other family car is more refined and fun to drive, but I still find myself always grabbing the keys to my car 4R.

Welcome back!

I sold my 3rd gen 1997 4Runner in 2015. Last year was my first opportunity to get another, and I bought a 5th Gen 2020 year model. I sure do like these trucks. They have a lot of character.

Nice ride! I recently got into a 4Runner for the first time, but not a V-8, looking forward to trying it someday.
