Whats up from Orlando, FL
My love for 4runners started when a neighbor of mine in TX had a white '89 fully optioned 6cycl 4runner with altimeter. He would take us for light wheeling and from that day I dreamed of having a 4runner. Then my father's second wife had a 95 fully loaded 5spd SR5 that he would let me take when she was out of town or at work I loved that truck and wanted to buy it from her but she would not let me have it. Then it was time for me to buy my first car and I vowed to get a 4runner. Although I would have loved to have been able to afford a limited 4x4 I knew that my budget would not allow for that so I decided that I could make due with a new '00 4cycl 5spd 2wd. The day I went to Toyota of Orlando to purchase it I was greeted by a representative and told him that I wanted to test drive a 4runner and he told me he would be back with the keys, he never came back. I guess he assumed that because of my youth I could not afford it (to bad I was approved for $30k by my bank). So out of my anger I walked over to the Honda dealer and left with a 00 fully loaded Honda Civic EX. Then life took it's swings at me and today I have an 04 Mitsubishi Endeavor which has treated me well but the void of wanting a 4runner still lingers. Well now I am in an RN program and the Endeavor already has over 100k so I am saving up the pennies to get my graduation present T4R 5th Gen '11 4runner SR5 4x4. So for now I make due staring at others awesome runners until the day I walk on the stage and over to pick up my new Toyota.

Welcome to T4R.org. You'll reach your goal soon. I've wanted a 4Runner since the 3rd gen's debut. Little did I know 10yrs later my snow addiction would reunite me with my favorite SUV.

Thanks for the greetings ..... running_riot I am going to have to rent a runner for the mean time as I would never spoil a 4runner meet with my MitsuShi**y Endeavor. LOL Unfortunatley I am going to have to wait until I graduate and get my income again so I can get my new 5th gen Trail Edition. I have been wishing I had a runner to hit the Ocala trails to do some wheeling maybe I will go to Toyota and tell them I am a car reviewer and want to review the new Trail Ed. ;)
Uneek, seems to be how my story is going to go, priorities come first but I think the runner is going to be a great investment as I know it's going to last me at least 10 years, take me from point A to B, and still let me have some fun wheeling or going to the beach.

Oh and Samantha you are my hero. I need to find a woman here in FL that likes to go wheelin as seen in your avatar. Down here in Central FL we have to many princess wannabes that only think about Dulce & Gabana and spending money instead of just being themselves and enjoying life.

An education and degree will give you the best ROI, then a 4Runner.

Boriqua from south Florida here. I feel your pain brother. Not to get too personal but I have three kids in major universities. My youngest begins Florida State University in August and he needs a car like yesterday. My daughter works part time and drives a beat up '06 Altima she also needs better car. My wife is in a BSN program and has been full time student so I'm the only one working full time (actually two jobs) to survive. We have zero car payments right now but...soon probably two maybe even three. I know as soon as my wife starts working full-time things will hopefully get better, but the economy is also skyrocketing with it. Keep your dreams alive. I'm 23 years into my career and also looking to buy used due to so many other expenses. I have no doubt there is a special 4Runner out there for you. The day will come.
