That's a beautiful ride Ian, Congrats Man
I can't believe that's a 96', its spotless. Whats the km's on it? I don't even know if i'm saying that right. Do they calculate by km's or is it by hours
I'm not really familiar with the Surfs, what other cool gadgets do they come with besides the diesel and the rear camera in the spoiler? (I have seen a thread on that before) Is it geared really low? Whats the specs on the motor (HP/Torque)?
I'd really love to see one in person. I still can't believe how clean yours is
Congrats again on your new toy

Thanks guys! This one has 132,000kms on it, and there's no rear camera, but there is the power mirror on the back so you can look in the rear veiw mirror and see the rear bumper. It also has electronic adjustable suspension (hard or soft), power folding side mirrors, altimeter/compass, and a few things I'm sure I missed. There's an assload of pics and a video here:

Well we got off to a rough start. Our flight last night was canceled, so we had to go back home and come back early this morning and flew to Toronto, with a connecting flight that doesn't leave till 8PM tonight, so we'll get to Vegas a full 24 hours later than we were supposed to, and had to kill the day in Toronto. We jumped on a bus and went to a crappy mall.
On the plus side, my wife told me last night that she bought me some laps in a Ferrari F430 at the racetrack!!! I can't be sour in light of this, it was totally unexpected, and is honestly the coolest thing anyone has ever gotten me in my life! And it includes some laps as a passenger in a Porsche Cayenne on the track as well!

Well we got the truck picked up, took it for a quick drain and fill (as I didn't have a filter for it with me), and had them check things over quickly, and then we hit the road! Made it to Kelowna the 1st day, and we've stopped for the night in Radium Hot Springs for the night. So far I've put 2 tanks of fuel through it, no issues whatsoever, purrs like a diesel kitten!
Had to slip it in AWD a few times through some of the mountain passes, but we've had really good luck with the weather overall. RHD hasn't been a real issue at all, the fender mirror makes it real easy to tell where the dotted line is so long as the road isn't snow covered. Truck has good power for the steep climbs, no black smoke when it's working hard, and the CD player plays burnt CD's! Traffic has been real light, I'm sooo happy we're doing this drive during the week and not on a weekend.

That's awesome!
You must be pretty pumped to be actually driving it finally after all this time waiting.
I'm a few hours north of you and the weather is pretty decent around here, hopefully the same there for the rest of your drive too. Damn cold mind you, but ok driving weather.
Looking forward to pics of it at it's new home.

Stopped in Calgary at my brother's for a couple of days, and got a chance to upload some pics from in the mountains! SO jealous of you guys who get to live in this sort of terrain, the prairies are so flat and boring in comparison.
So here's a few pics, it's dirty, but it's in my possession now!

Wow...... that's sweet!
What's that "panel" on the rear spoiler?
Why didn't they offer the rear tire carrier in North America?! It looks so good and natural on a T4R!

That panel in the rear wing is '96 technology back up camera, lol. It's a power folding mirror so I can look in the rear view and see the rear bumper when backing up to a trailer or parallel parking.
I love the rear tire carrier as well!

Finally got home today, crunched the numbers and it looks like I averaged about 21mpg on the trip, doing 120-140km/h for the most part. I was hoping for a bit better, but that may come once I've had a chance to do a bit of maintenance on it. I changed the air filter once I got back, and it was filthy.
All in all, the truck was very good to me, and we had an awesome trip!

How much did you drive in 4wd? And I bet you also hit a bunch of hills on the way too. I bet your day to day numbers will be better. Sweet pics too, but would you mind taking and posting some pics of the engine? That's what's really gonna make me drool.

I was in AWD roughly 20% of the time over the trip, RWD whenever I could, but a few "kickouts" of the rear and I was getting asked if we were in AWD whenever the road was less than bare and dry, lol.
More pics and definitely some engines shots to come shortly, it's back to work tomorow and working to get it safetied and insured in the evenings. Hoping to get DRL's and new headlights/corner lights installed Monday evening, and maybe get it in for an inspection Tuesday or Wednesday, so I can see if there's anything else it will need.
