Found 94 4Runner, 177k mi. 6cyl. 4wh drive, auto, $1600
Hello any forum members. I found a 1994 4Runner with 6cyl. 4wheel drive and 177,xxx miles. Dealer wants $1600. How often do timing belts need replaced and approximately what would replacement cost? It had sticker in engine compartment that stated that timing belt was replaced about 60-77k miles ago. Underneath frame looks great. It might need oilpan gasket. There was oil on transfer case though. Front CV boots were torn. I haven't started motor or driven it yet. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Edit: I just did a search and if I'm not mistaken 6cyl. has timing chain which needs replaced at 100k miles. This may have been the sticker stating that timing chain was replaced that I saw in engine compartment.
