First 4Runner Purchase...

Hey Everyone! Great forums, helped me make my decision yesterday.

Picked up a 2011 Limited in Shoreline Blue/Black Interior with NAV, Cross Bars and Running Boards. I got an insane deal, which I'll share later. Had to drive 130 miles to get the model and deal I wanted. Got 22.6 mpg on highway home.

Not long ago, I reluctantly gave up my 2004 Land Cruiser and have been wanting another Toyota ever since. Love this new 5th Gen design, so this was perfect timing to pull the trigger.

I'm not an off-roader, but I haul around the family (wife & 2 kids & dog) to the beach, skiing, camping, etc. This will do the job nicely.

I could use some advice on two things right away:

1. Running boards. The stock Toyota boards are barely functional. I might be able to get the tip of my toes on them, but my wife and kids are even having trouble. Anyone know if they can be adjusted? OR recommend a reasonable replacement?

2. Floor mats. Stock mats are pretty cheap. Any suggestions on good quality carpet mats? I will probably get some Weathertechs for the winter.

Look forward to upcoming discussions. Photos coming soon.

Congrats on the new toy, can't wait to see the pics.

Not very familiar with the 5 gens so i can't be much help regarding the running boards, but as far as the floormats, you could check out Xenon Depot's homepage (links in the first post).

Sticker on Limited with NAV, Mats, Cross Bars and Running Boards is $43,053 (including delivery/freight).

ZAG/USAA price is $39,258 (incl. freight)

I got it for $38,194 (incl. freight). This is $1,866 below invoice and $1,069 below actual dealer cost.

Also got 2.85% 60mos. from TFS.

It took about a month of negotiating between 3 dealers. In the end my dealer that sold me my Land Cruiser gave me this deal out of loyalty.

And you got in ahead of the $600 price hike!

I just ordered a set of Cabela's Trail Gear 2 floor mats for my 07. They look as custom molded as it get, right up to the door jams; and the reviews are all stellar.

I second the TrailGear2s. They're actually WeatherTech floorliners with a Cabela's sticker on them. I had them in my Xterra and they were great!

I've got WeatherTech liners in my 2011 SR5 and love them. They fit perfectly and are super easy to clean.

I'm not a huge fan of the liners. I won't be off-road anytime soon. I was looking on your site at the Lloyd mats. I'm thinking the Rubbertite for the cargo and one of the carpets for the first two rows. Any recommendations on which carpet? Both the Luxe and Truberber look nice.

Rubbertite VS WeatherTech: You really can't compare them as the weathertech products will do a much better job protecting the interior given that they are a liner. I was a little "iffy" about putting a liner in but now that I have them installed I will never take them out.

They fit perfectly and are a breeze to clean.

As for carpet mats, I personally like the "Luxe Mats" line. They are a lot nicer than the OEM Toyota mats.
