Hello From Reno, NV

Hey everybody, I've been lurking and made a few posts since I joined a few months ago but thought I would make a formal hello. I live in Reno, NV and just bought my 2nd 4Runner in December 2010 after i sold my 85 4Runner and 99 GMC.

Here was my 99 GMC:

Specs:
1999 GMC Sierra 1500
4" Rancho Lift
Bilstein's All Around
17x8 Black Rock Viper Wheels
295/70R17 Interco SS M16's
Hypertech Flash Programmer
Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhaust
Spectre CAI
Alpine Head Unit
2 Alpine Amps
Infinity Speakers
2 10" Bazooka Subs
Etc...

Then while i still had my GMC I bought my 1985 4Runner as a toy. I have grown up around wheeling all my life but i figured i would do some real wheeling, so instead of buying a Jeep i bought a Yota:

Specs:
-1985 Toyota 4Runner
-37x12.50r15 Goodyear Wrangler MTR
-Marlin Dual MC-07 Rotated case adapter with upgraded 23 spline input
4.7 gears in the rear case for a final crawl ratio of 174:1 (with 4.10 stock diffs)
-Rock Assault Hydro Assist
-Chevy springs in rear
-Rear springs up front moving axle forward
-Rock sliders
-Lincoln Locked Front & Rear
-Longfield Birfields and Hub Gears
-Final Crawl Ratio of 174:1

Then, I decided to make a very tough decision. My GMC was my first car and i had a lot of memories in it (some good and some bad) and i REALLY liked my 85 4Runner and how it would go anywhere. However, it was getting tough to afford gas with my GMC that got 11 MPG and i was spending hundreds every month on my 85 4Runner upgrading things. Not only that but im in college and my grades were suffering badly because of the time i spent working on the 4Runner. So one day i put both my GMC and 4Runner up for sale. About a month later they both sold within 2 days of each other and i drive down to Roseville where i picked up my 05 4Runner at Just Better Cars (Just FYI NEVER go there, horrible buying experience).

This is the night i drove it home:

Here is the car less than 4 months later:

Specs:
2005 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition
Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhaust
Daystar Leveling Kit
15% Tint Front Windows
20x9 KMC XD Monster Wheels
285/55R20 Sumitomo HTR Plus Tires
Blacked Out Tail Lights
Personal Touches

Future Plans:
5% Tint On The Backs
URD MAF Calibrator
Sealed CAI
HID Head Lights
LED Interior Lighting
Etc...

I am hunting around on this forum for folks in the Reno area who may want to hit some trails with us. You are welcome to join us at Battle Born Cruisers. We do at least two club runs a month, quarterly camping/overland trips, monthly social gatherings (show and shine style), and hold monthly club meetings.
