Would love to get some people together to run the Blackwood Canyon Trail sometime in the next few months when the snow level gets a little bit lower. I ran it solo with my stock tires a few months ago and almost didnt make it... Its a neat longer trail that dumps you about 5 miles from the end of the Rubicon.. get to see some of the easier sections of the most famous trail ever! Ill keep an eye on snow levels (I'm up there most weekends) and when its open enough I'll let everyone know!

Probably best for trucks with 3in of lift, moderately aggressive tires, and a slight willingness to get dirty!

Holy cow! I saw the email for this thread last night and was like hey, I'll check it out tomorrow and did not think that many posted in it. But umm I am open to find other camping spots where we can wheel and do camping. Eagle lakes is a good spot because we can Fordryce trail from there, and they have a little something for everyone, even people without built up rigs but if anyone else can mention some other good spots I don't mind honestly. Only issue with me is I'm bringing friends that I need to shuttle into eagle lakes as they do not have off road vehicles.

If you're planning a trip, post up here and and I'll do my best to keep the OP updated.
Be sure to post loads of pics from your trips so we make people jealous and inspire others to get out and get their rigs dirty.

Rubicon, after Labor Day, mid week.
Just throwing something out there to start a conversation.

For those who are down to go to the Eastern Sierras...
I'm wondering..
Is there a weekend you guys would be able to make it?
If we were to do this, I could see the schedule being something like this...
Friday
Leave around noon, get there a little after sunset, set camp and relax. Another option is leaving here in the afternoon, and get there very early Saturday morning.
Saturday
Wake up early. Go siteseeing/wheeling along 395. Try to catch Schat's Bakery in Bishop for Dinner. Set up camp in Bishop, on Buttermilk Road.
Sunday
Go wheeling for the first part of the morning on Buttermilk Road, then head home past noon.
Obviously, if we had more time, it'd be nice so we wouldn't constantly be on the move.

Why leave so late on Friday?
I’d say early morning that way we have time to scout and set up camp relax and enjoy the afternoon.

That sounds like a good one too.
Mid week might be hard for those of us who can’t take too much time off of work.
But does sound nice since it wouldn’t be packed with people during the week.

I figured everyone has work on fridays. It'd be really nice if we left early Friday though.
