New to Bay Area need advice

Any Bay Area folks in here? I just relocated from VA and I need help finding a rent-a-lift or a place with I can turn a wrench! I am in a condo now with no place to work on my runner.

Any advice or a driveway to use would be great! I am trying to replace my tie rod ends. I have plenty of my own tools (including jack stands, ramps, etc.), just nowhere to use them now. I miss my garage and driveway.

Depending where you live, there is pit row in Santa Clara. I'd go there from time to time to do extensive work as they've got all the tools, hydraulic lift, etc.

Edit.
Welcome to the Bay! Come run with us in the NorCal Wheeling camping Bs thread, found here

I am over in walnut creek. Ouch! 45 miles away, that is a hike. Not an ideal option, but good to be aware of. Is that the only one in the area? Google is not helping me right now.

I'll check the thread out for sure. After I get my t4r situated again I'm trying to get out. I seriously underestimated how crappy it is not to have a driveway or a garage anymore.

You doing inner and outers? Or just outers? I would be willing to let you work on them at my place as I'm just up the road. Problem is I'm gone the next 3 weekends and wouldn't be able to do it before the weekend of 12/1. I live in an apt, but wrench on my stuff all the time even though "technically" I'm not supposed. Or, where I work has TONS of space.

Appreciate the offer man! We should get in touch. I'm just doing my outers. Driver side bushing is torn so I figured i'd do both at the same time. I'd always prefer sooner rather than later, it drives me crazy when I know I have something to fix and I cant get to it. But If I cant figure out anything else I'll come through with some beers and get it done.

I don't head out to walnut creek all that often, so I wouldn't know. If you can't wait, another option is just asking a repair shop if you can setup space in their lot. Hell, since you have all the tools, another option is just doing it at night on the street or parking lot. Autozone might even let you do the work in their lot.

walnut creek is a lot bougier than Virginia Beach, apparently there is a local ordinance prohibiting working on your vehicle in the street. Normally I'd just do it late night on the street but street is on a grade and has some camber to it.

I'm going to have to do some investigating. I'm not about to start eating labor costs every time I want to have something done. The change in cost of living out here is significant as it is.

Yeeeeeeeep, and why I do all my own work on my car. Outers don't take long to do, but I am just jammed pack with trips. Pismo this weekend, then off to CO following Friday for a week, then Vegas and am back Sunday night. During the week sucks because of work, getting dark early and Sharks games. But if you can wait till the 1st...just shoot me a PM and we can knock it out.

Thanks, I actually lucked out and found someone on the bay area 4runners FB group who lives close to walnut creek and can offer me a driveway this Saturday.
