I live in Sacramento, but I don't know if there are any 4Runner specific clubs. I've taken a trail run with the Capitol City Mountain Goats which was a lot of fun. I plan on doing more next year. My wife drives our completely stock 4Runner as I have a long commute. Welcome to the board.

Thanks, I was begining to wonder whether I'd ever get a responce on this thread. I just recently got mine, and I'm just getting the kinks worked out in it. Its still compleatly stock, however I've been itching to take it over to Prairie City 4x4 park. I haven't been there but it would be cool to see what the truck can do. Good to know I'm not the only one in the Captal City.

I didn't even notice you were in Elk Grove. I'm just north of EG, but have lived out there a long time. EG High School class of 91! ha ha.
Anyways, I've been out to prairie city and it seemed to be more geared towards quads and dirt bikes and things like that. However, there are a few obsticles for "larger" 4x4's, including the mini-rubicon, although you probably don't want run that one with a stock anything.
What year/model is yours? I've got a 97 SR5, V6, 5 speed, 4x4 with the stock 15" wheels. Not the best, but it's still quite capable!
If you've got a 3rd generation Runner you may also want to check out yotatech.com, if you haven't already. It's primarily a 3rd gen board.

Cool, I've only been in Elk Grove for a couple of years. But its a nice place.
My trucks a 90 SR5 V6 5-speed. 3.0 liter 4x4. Its a bit slow, but eventualy once I get some more cash I'd like to put in the 3.4 liter supercharged. But thats probibly a ways down the road. Everything is still stock, but again I'd like to add things here and there when I can. I'm still a student, so finding the cash to start modifying is a little difficult, lol. Anyway, thanks for the info on Prarie, I was wondering what was out there.

I know this thread is old now, but I was wondering if you ever made it out to Prairie City. I was thinking of heading out there one of these days if for no other reason than to keep all the 4WD parts lubed.

Lol, well it really isn't my desision. My pops just got himself a new Tacoma TRD so he doesn't want to sell his T-100 because he loves it so much. So he's basicly making me sell the 4Runner so i end up with the T100. Either way, we're all keeping with Toyota. Unfortunatly the T-100 isn't 4x4. But its still fun to drive.

trboblu74tii, nice looking Runner. I'm out near Elk Grove, 99/Calvine area. I've got a stock '97 SR5 and have been on a few runs with a local Jeep club. Doing another one in 2 weeks. Only thing is, our Runner has the 15" alloys so I'm lacking a little in ground clearance, but I don't do anything extreme, just some trail runs.

GYoter, is that a Disco on your neighbors driveway? Maybe they'd be up for wheelin with some 4Runners?
On the last SUV run I went on led by the local jeep club, there was a group of about 6-8 Discoveries heading the opposite way on the trail. I'd like to be out with a group of 4Runners for mild-moderate trails.
