Haha it was an awesome time
Looks like my cousin beat me in the pics but weather was crazy.
Sunny awesome Friday morning but then
Rain
Thunderstorms
Hail
And snow on Sunday morning.
We saw a taco up there, I followed him up fordyce until he went towards the lake and we kept climbing.
Definitely the most water I have ever seen out there but it just made it that much more epic.

classics.
Mine used to keep hitting the spring area, I used to remove it when I go to the hills then reinstall, now it just hangs in the garage.

Pretty much what he reported on weather, lol.

He said he seen a few of you guys, and another group came in to wheel later.
Gen4 straight axle. That ones for sale also.

New 4runner owner

Hey everyone. I am new to 4runners, just bought a 99 SR5. I live in Elk Grove and am looking for a group that goes 4wheeling/Overlanding. Anyone know a good forum or group?

Welcome aboard. As far as I know, this is generally the right thread for most folks in the area on the forum. From time to time a handful of us gather to hit a few trails a year. Depends on conditions and right now, there's still a good amount of snow at the higher elevations.

Other than that, I don't have much more info for the Sac area.

MET continues to elude me. Giant downed tree in almost the exact area I turned around and bailed from the group back in November.

We made the most of it. Cooked some hot dogs and goofed off for a couple hours.

And then this on the way out:

Random dudes stuck in their jeep. Zero gear. Bald street tires. We rescued them. Good karma I suppose. MET, I will conquer you yet!

It’s easier to make it if you start on the hwy 50 side.
So crazy to see that there’s still snow on the ground up there at this time of year.

What's up mark! Although I appreciate your suggestion, I've now failed to complete that trail twice from 88. No F ing way I'm gonna go the 50 way now! But yeah it's still snowy. More like ice really. Might not be cleared til August

Dude if your down to go and try again soon let me know.
I’m sure the tree will be cleared by then but if not I’ll take a chain saw just in case.
I still have a score to settle with a little hill we stopped and messed around on that time you turned around.
I made it up but needed help down. Nor Cal Wheeling, Camping and BS - 2019

Hahahah nice. Yeah I'll keep you posted. I certainly need to run the whole thing. Just sucks the snow quality is so poor. I really don't want to fight the trail and spend all day working and shovelling just to save my manhood. Plus there's supposed to be a killer lookout on one of the offshoots. Gotta be ice free to accomplish that for sure.

Who is down to run signal peak Saturday June 29th? I'm getting some friends together, meet at Cisco Grove at 9am and head back to Eagle Lakes exit and do the trail. Its probably snowy, so winch and shovel will be required.

I guarantee stock tire vehicles will have major issues going up the mud/snow.

Was there at the end of May and there was lots of snow still. We didn’t make it half way up before we had to turn around in a suuuper barrow spot. Even if it’s melted by now, prepare for some serious mud up there.

We do quite a bit of wheeling here. This year we haven't done much since the snow hasn't melted.

There's Overlandbound... but... it's OverlandBound, where if you haven't spent $20k+ on your pavement princess/Sema show truck, you mean nothing to them.

Norcal 4x4 on facebook is pretty active, but i'm not sure if they really plan wheeling trips.
