Any tips and trails would be greatly appreciated!!

Around Bishop...
Silver Canyon Road + Wyman Canyon Trail in East Bishop.
Volcano Tablelands + Casa Diablo + Red Rock Canyon in North Bishop.
Buttermilks + Coyote Flats in West Bishop.
For convenience, I'd go Bishop -> Silver Canyon Road, down Wyman Canyon, since it'll shoot you south. That said, it's quite a long route... but at least it shoots you south.
For Scenery in the mountains, I'd say Coyote Flats, but the swtichbacks going up Coyote Flats aren't for the weak hearted.. and it's quite long. Buttermilks would be my next choice.
For desert like/ancient(hieroglyphs)scenery i'd go Volcano Tablelands + Red Rock Canyon, but it'll throw you back out to Tom's Place.
