Gotta check out the bear cabin I think it’s called while you’re around there. Cool spot.
Thanks! We’ll see how brave I am. I’ve watched a few YT videos and it looks pretty hairy. My tires are 31”.
Did Corral Hollow last weekend. The trail is bit beat up but very doable, probably more fun, we had a 4runner with steps, 3inch lift and 33s and no locker do it no problem. The smoke Sunday was terrible tho.

While no longer in a 4Runner, I always enjoy wheeling. Officially made a shake down trail run at Sourgrass. Flexed more than the Runner and a lot more 3 wheel action due to the extremely short wheel base.

Looks like a fun day! A buddy hit Corral Hollow a week ago. Said the views were incredible! Rough trail though. I would probably have to go from West to East and then turn around when it gets to be too difficult for a novice like me.
We went camping at Lake Alpine and got dumped on Thursday night. Fortunately, our little cheapo tent held up quite nicely! Got home and got it cleaned up and dried out and ready for our next adventure.

Thanks, it was.
Corral Hollow is great, in my video there is a 5th gen with 2 inch lift and 285/70 tires no lockers and no sliders that I guided through. His only other 4 wheeling experience was a Prairie City SVRA with me.
Foresdale Rd by Carson Pass and Blue Lake has even better views and it's a bit easier. I wouldn't go wheeling by yourself, that's how you get in trouble.

Pyrocumulus cloud from the Mosquito Fire outside of Foresthill. This breaks my heart, as this is my favorite mountain to visit. Hoping the best for the residents of Foresthill, as they are all under mandatory evacuation.
Anybody have good dispersed campgrounds within reasonable distance of the East Bay Area (Concord/Pleasant Hill)? If it had a little four wheeling area that would be good too. Nothing extreme.
Made the trek up to Grouse Ridge the weekend before last. My timing was perfect, as by now it's covered in snow! The scenery was absolutely unparalleled...

Dude. That’s badass. We really need to find a way to get together.
