Depends on what the forest order says. But in this case as @posted, yes, it’s all closed. Steep penalties for violators …. But beyond that - not respecting the closures is how trails and things get closed permanently.

I came across wrong on that one but I was specifically asking about Soda Springs Rd. I meant to acknowledge that campgrounds, day use, hunting, hiking trails, etc are all closed.

Sounds good, if the forests reopen per order, but let's move it up a week to Oct 2nd. Would love to try doing Signal Peak with the hard way, but with people that have done it before. I should have my full armor underneath by then and the Ridge Grapplers have over performed so far.

A question for you...I've never done that run yet, but very exited to. My rig is cherry...any chances of getting scratched or banged up on Soda Springs Rd? I'm pretty much bone stock...

The hard way? You mean the official trail, which hooks to the right side of the large tree where the trail leana off camber, downhill to the passenger side. That section?

You will be fine. I followed my buddy in a stock 2wd Tacoma up there a few years ago. If you stay on Soda Springs Rd the entire time you will not even need 4WD but will get dusty. There are some nice forest roads that shoot off Soda Springs Rd that barely require 4WD that lead to some great overlooks. The side roads do get kind of narrow and brushy so proceed with caution on those. By the way, I spoke with the ranger and Soda Springs Rd is not closed to through traffic traveling from point A to point B, but the forest service roads are closed. Definitely worth waiting for the forest to reopen unless I'm really desperate for some windshield scenery time.

Sorry - I did not mean to be preachy. Just wanted to point out that forest orders about closures are important to know about and follow.

Good idea to call the local ranger station for specific info. Great way to get current info and details relative to what your looking to do.

I think I’m free that day and would be up for this if it’s all clear. Fingers crossed there are no more fires/issues and they are able to open the forests.

Awesome, looks like Tahoe National Forests (Signal Peak) will be open tomorrow, El Dorado NF (50/MET) closed until end of the month.
Oct 2nd still works for Signal Peak, could use your help with the granite hard part.
