Good HU's for Off-Roading?

I've been looking into replacing my factory head unit in my '07 4Runner with a nice nav unit with all the bells and whistles my factory HU lacks (Bluetooth, iPod integration, Pandora, etc.). One factor that I'm considering is if I can find a HU with some off-roading specific features.

Some features I thought would be cool would be the ability to load topo maps or have an inclinometer digitally displayed on the HU. At the very least, it would be nice to have access to 4x4 trails or forest service roads. I'm not sure if Garmin (the mapping system used on Kenwoods) or Google maps has FS roads listed standard or if another GPS system would have to be used. Another cool feature I saw a while ago on a buddy's HU in his Jeep JK was the ability to leave a popcorn trail (cheesy, I know, but practical) so you could go back the way you came if you found yourself lost on a series of different trails. He sold that Jeep and he doesn't remember the brand HU he had, but something like that would be pretty practical.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

My dads garmin shows basically all of the forest service roads that we've been around. Just my .02.

Good to know, thanks. Is your dad's Garmin a standalone unit or is it the Garmin software on a different brand head unit? The Garmin nav software is part of the reason why I am compelled to go with a Kenwood. Google maps doesn't show FS roads from what I can tell (at least not when you pull up Google maps on a computer) so I'm inclined to lean towards the Kenwood/Garmin option.

It's a standalone, and a pretty old one at that, probably at least 4 years, and has never been updated.

I have a pioneer avic 700bt in dash unit. I don't like it's nav features or maps, so when I travel I bring my garmin from the work truck.
