I'm planning on getting there Friday morning. My 4Runner is mostly stock and it's my DD so I wouldn't be able to do the hardcore stuff, but it would be fun to meet some of you in person. I'm bringing a couple of friends as passengers. I'm really getting excited about the weekend. Now I just need my rock sliders to get built and installed.

[QUOTE=jediwebdude;1617438]Last year, we did a 4Runners-only photo. Hope we have more 4Runners this year.
Here are the 4Runners that attended last year...
2013 Lone Star Toyota Jamboree by VisualUniverse, on Flickr
I was stock 5th gen last year. Front row center. I got the prize for least flex. Still I did some crazy shi..uff. This year I'm sporting baja rack (won at last year at jambo), Cooper ATP 285-70-17s, Icon extended travel front remote resovoir coil overs set at 2.5, rear Icon shocks n springs, Icon tubular uniiball UCAs, Metal Tech Adjustable Rear LCAs, Total Chaos LCA bracket skid, shrockworks full underbelly (have fuel skid but not installed yet), and ordered shrockworks sliders (depends on turn time).
Although I should have axed kdss, I haven't yet, so I didn't get extended travel rear. But I couldn't make everything happen in time thanks to KolbyDMC, hopefully though, I can get most improved in flex.

Husband and I are interested in spectating only. Won't get far with my 4x2 sport but this looks fun! Is this possible To watch some off roading fun without pleading to ride with someone or is most of this park way off the beaten trail?

I've got room, but some of it is 2 wheel doable. My son has an fj now and he should have an empty seat. So ride along is cool with he and I. Hell I'd like to have someone to talk to in the cab. I may let you y'all drive, but that is something I'd have to assess. The beginner trail should be doable for you depending on wetness.

Good to know! Thanks for offering space that's very kind. I'm pretty sure we will come out even if people look at us funny driving our 4x2. Now to decide which one to take lol. Besides... we're always game for some camping !

Edited previous message, so a relook is needed.
So you know, my son did 1's and 2's two years in a row with a 2wd. He only needed a wench twice. First time too much mud, second time bit off more than he could chew up a hill on a tree root. The second year he did have a rear locker though.

Like tengu said, most lower level trails are semi 2wd friendly, and most of the difficult obstacles have bypasses for the faint of heart, I say get with a good (probably slow moving) group and enjoy yourselfs. Always know when to bypass, (even though this may not apply to a 2wd vehicle, changing cv's (or any repair for that matter) is not fun on the red dirt and rocks lol, speaking from experience.

But it's much more fun watching, drinking a beer, and giving bad advice as others repair their cv and or fix their breaks. AKA watching YOU and Kolby get dirty.

My personal goal is eventually to have more 4Runners than FJ Cruisers attending Lone Star Jambo. Part of my strategy was to convince Toyota to stop manufacturing the FJ Cruiser. Obviously, I was successful.
Next is to persuade more T4R members to get themselves to Jambo.

I am sorry that I have made an addition to the FJs this year haha. I miss my 4Runner. After doing 2 years in a 2WD, I am very excited to do some real wheeling this year! and sit around and watch Rob change another CV axel

The force is strong in you indeed. With any luck they don't water down the 4runner and try to cross the two.

I think we should hold a CV swap tournament.. lol.
I'll be heading down with a crew on that Friday morning. About a 3-1/2 drive for us. I wont have anyone in the truck with me, so if anyone wants to ride along at the park feel free to do so. At some point I'll probably be doing harder trails. I'd also like to group up with some people who know the park well. I've watched a few videos of people doing Twister. Depending on what it looks like in person I'd love to give it a shot.
