Anyone drive Broken Arrow in Sedona?

Ok, this may seem like a dumb question, but I just came back from Arizona and took a Pink Jeep Tour on the Broken Arrow trail in Sedona.

Has anyone on this list taken their 4Runner on the Broken Arrow?

Dan

Dansnare,

I have taken my GX up Broken Arrow. The jeep tour guys did not know what to think. It was a great trail and I look forward to trying it again.

You can search the forum for my old post, but here is a few pics

I did it in November. I went up to the parking area shown in TexGx's pic. I decided to pass on the stair steps for a number of reasons. I had recently, thoroughly pushed the 4Runner near its limits and didn't need to find out if it could do it. Also, the Pink Jeeps were out in force that day - looked like a parade - and I didn't want to feel rushed going down the stairs since it was sure to be a skid plate pounder.

Cool. Now are your trucks both stock? My driver suggested that stock vehicles would bottom out a lot. But I don't know if he meant 4Runners or Honda Pilots. ;-)

I did it a couple weeks ago in my 02. Remove the running boards for sure. I've got 265 70 16 BFG AT KOs, but no lift.

The only area that took a beating was my spare tire and trailer hitch. The spare is a highway tire, so I am suspect of its integrity now.

Anyways, no real problems on Broken Arrow. The steps aren't bad, just intimidating to look down. When I was headed out there was a 4th gen coming down from the steps (where the trail merges back to two way traffic) that appeared to be stock as well.

My GX is completly stock. It was a cold day and the jeep people were freezing. My wife and I pass them with the heated seats and heater on high. When we made it to submarine rock, one of the guys on the jeep tour asked if we were shooting a Lexus commercial. If you take it slow and have a spotter for the difficult spots, it would be no problem. One of the off-road mags did a comparision with a few stock trucks on Broken Arrow with no major problems.
