Yeah sounds like airing down more for a bigger footprint and then hitting it with some speed (as long as the terrain/safety allowed it) would help a lot. Been up several hills where trying to crawl up it would just spin the tires, but getting a good head start at the bottom would get you through no problem.
Then again, there are limits
The runner is rather heavy. Lot of weight to lift up a steep slippery slope!
