Maximum Tire Size on 2006 4runner

I recently bought a black 2006 4runner sport and it came with the stock Dunlops P265/65R17...don't like these tires too much so I want to change them with some white letter BFGoodrich All Terrains but don't know how big I can get. I definitely want the biggest possible without rubbing or lifting (and the white letters), any recommendations??? Although I like going offroad I also drive in the city alot....will these tires hold up???

32" is the biggest you can go. This is equivalent to 265/70/17. I think that your spare tire carrier can take this size too.

285s most likely wont fit not because of height but because of width.. those have more tread so the 285s would rub inside the well.

265.70.17 would be the best bet for the application you want (no lift, no rub). There are plenty of tires to choose from so go get em. Spare tire will fit.

You can also consider 275.70.17 but you would need a lift for this application (no rub).

Good luck

I don't think 275.70.17 BFG All terrains are available. They jump from 265 to 285....Well than I think it is settled....some 32" white letter BFG All terrains. Any good websites to get some good cheap BFG All terrains??? They range about $160 a pop.

youd need a lift for the 32s probablly if you are talking about a 285/65 or something

trust me it wont fit.

Stick with 265/70/17. No rubbing. I would check out your local Discount Tire Co. or Costco. I think that Costco may not do it because they don't like to change tire size from OEM specs. Discount Tire Co. has been real good to me. If you want to buy over the net, then i would recommend TIRERACK.COM. Just ask them to deliver the tires to your local store.

BFG AT KO tires are excellent...you will love them! I do. If you don't off-road much, then i would recommend Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor.

At the end of the day I couldn't get the 17" wheels for my Ltd.

What is the max size I can put on a 18" wheel without rubbing or putting in a lift?

265/70/18? Is there such a thing?

265/60/18 is also the OEM size for my G. The next size up is 285/60/18 (Nittos). I am not sure if this will fit on 4runner...but i think that someone has put them on the new 4runner. You may want to do a search. I just did it for you:

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/search...der=descending

BFG AT KO comes in 285/65/18...but this is pretty big (33") and will likely rub. In addition, this size in BFG is very hard to find and $$$$$.

Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor makes your stock size. I would go with that instead of upsizing. See my response in this this thread:

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showth...er+silentarmor

Hope this helps.

They sold the sport before I get pick my runner. I'm told the other owner didn't want 18"s either. A real bummer.

Stay with 265/70's or you will have a problem.

31.8 or 32 ? what's the diff. like anyone will notice that.

BFG's are a great choice , I have the Revo's and like them alot too, but If I had to do it all over again I would go BFG in either the AT or the Rugged trail. I've alway's run BFG At's and think they are excellent !!

BFG AT

I bought a a complete set of 265/70-17 BFG AT's from Discount Tires two weeks ago. I told them that someone quoted me a price and wanted to see if they would match it. They did! I paid $686 for a set of BFG's. I believe the price was $165/tire minus $50/tire for my stock Dunlops.

Let me get this straight...you told them that you had found them at $165 a piece somewhere else and they matched it and they also bought back the dunlop stock tires?? so basically the cost per tire was $165-$50=$115 a tire? Any chance this was in atlanta??? I going to a discount tire the weekend for sure.

Thanks,
