Death Valley - Saline Valley to Lippincott Pass

Has anyone here done this route (at least the part from the 395 into the park)? From the youtube videos I've watched, it looks like no big deal in a 5th gen Trail. My buddies have a Tacoma 4x4 and a FJ Cruiser. If we did this in January would it be covered in snow? To me it looks like the elevation is low enough to avoid snow and ice.

Any input is appreciated.

The Racetrack (near top of Lippincott) can get snow, but it usually melts out fast. Since we're supposed to be getting an El Nino winter this year (I'll believe it when I see it) might just want to check weather/conditions before heading out to be safe.

Death Valley Talk and the Saline Preservation board are both good forums to follow for road conditions.

Also, South Pass, before heading down into Saline Valley can get substantial snow that sticks around in spots. North Pass can get snow too, but think it melts out there a bit quicker than South.
