@Rock_Rat

What are the exact dates you are considering? You say the days after July 4, you mean the weekend after, or...?

Whats your plan in regards to the trails? Depending on the day I may be able to run anything (but not going to stress the rig since i'm doing the Desert Trip next week.)

I'll PM you my e-mail since I currently don't use that Face???, MyFace?, umm oh yeah Facebook :P
Nothing hard at all. None of us want to break anything I'm sure. Plus I think we're all aware of your limitations. Glad you could make any of the legs! Hopefully the 10th works for you. If not at least you could just meet everyone before your trip.

Thanks. I think a meet and greet in the Bend area would be too much. Will keep you posted on all the details.

The folks from Bend/Salem will make that call.

I would like to leave the morning of Wednesday the 5th. If we decide on going from South to North which is the preferred way then I will need to either drive down late evening on the 4th or early on the 5th. (Sorry, but my wife loves the fireworks so leaving on the 4th isn't an option for me).

Would like to drive about 100 or more miles a day with about six days Total. Once we decide which route we want to take, we'll reach out to some forum members and my local group who have already driven it and get a better idea about the mileage expectations etc. Let me know your thoughts as you're coming up from Cali.

I'm going to say right now that probably wont work unless it happens to be along my drive to Burns, OR. Plan is 6-7am leave Salem and Drive to Burns - unload my dad's Toyota and drive till we decide to quit. July - I might be able to squeeze. I've done all but ONE of the Oregon OBDR 's so I can give you my information but I will warn you right now going in July along Route 3 will net you snow in 2 different area's (I've seen both area's).

Let me know what you guys decide and I'll keep checking this post

I think Sunday would work. It just makes for a long day for me. Down and back and up at 5:30am Monday for work. One tired hombre. Perhaps I can head down Saturday night and camp locally. (thinking out loud) I need to check with two others first before I commit.

I can't do Sunday unless it's local because I work. I could do Saturday the 10th, or I could meet up locally, I am in Vancouver. If we did Salem I could probably make it down Saturday, possibly Bend if it is early enough in the day so I can make it back late afternoon evening for work.
@Rock_Rat , I am going to be doing the WABDR in July, I would love to meet up and pick your brain sometime.

Just went through your entire build. I'm thinking Edison Butte is not an option! Especially with trees that jump out in front of you.

You and I can meet up anytime. We're both local. Are you with the PDX Overlanders FB group? We can see when the next run is. Do you plan on doing any of the OBDR? The WABDR should be good in July. Right now section 2 still has a lot of snow according the sheadv.com website.

So I'm leaning towards Saturday the 10th, I stay down there overnight and hang out Sunday morning a bit and come home. Everyone OK with that?

Yeah I wouldn't do that trail again without giving ourselves a lot of time, it's a bit more technical on the other side than we had thought.

I also cannot leave here until late night July 4th. We have a work detail mandating everyone be present due to an influx of people to the city for festivities. I could leave directly from work at about midnight, and head to whatever starting point you were planning, get a few hours sleep, and be ready to roll in the morning.

I just requested Friday off so I would basically have available Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (assuming they give me Friday off, otherwise just Wed and Thurs). I would have to head back late Friday PM to be home by Saturday afternoon.

Obviously for me doing it south to north is the best.

I have 2m, CB, and am perfectly content smashing over boulders and pinstriping my truck or rolling along at a sedate speed on a gravel road. Park me in the back and I'll just stay 100 yards back in your mirror for 3 days!

EDIT, I got Fri off

Just to clarify, are we talking about meeting up on the 10th of June or July, and did we decide on an actual meeting up place? Either way i can try to make something work.
