i understand you want big.. look at goodtimes rig, hes running 35s with long travel front and I think a 1.5 inch BL. you can get custom bls made you know that.. not hard
however
I would realllllly search bracket lifts and drivetrain lifts on yotatech before you make that impulse buy on something you have no idea how it performs..
It doesnt matter how tall it is, but when a bracket lift lowers the COG it doesnt matter if its 2 inchs or 15 inchs. its going to be tippy!!
|
I have had several already. never once did I get hung up by them or have a single problem with them. None of my trucks were tippy either.
I realize that part of the lift is front only, but the rear is solid axle so thats no problem.
both of these were bracket lifts and I went everywhere with them..

go for it.. 1700 total for 6 inchs of lift when it can be done for 900 with coilovers, coils in rear and a 2 inch bl
i dont see the need for this much lift on a 4runner.
a truck like those two? two totally different rigs and characterisitcs.. cant believe you just compared those to a 4runner.

Well it's not an apples to apples comparison. Just saying that bracket lifts are durable, and work with everyday driving and some good abuse here and there too.
Both are independent front suspension with solid rear axle and a v8 though..

just do more research on bracket lifts for 4runners, not anything else!... on yotatech, not here,
post up over there too.
not discouraging you, just know what you are getting yourself into with a 4runer which is half the size of that f150 there.

I don't know what the body lift cost is but from what I see the coilovers aren't cheap.. Downey kit front and rear is $1,461.75 (I just priced that)
So why not just go suspension lift and not mess with the body lift.
The bracket lift is $1,695.99 thats front and rear.

OME lift will cost you $744 and OME is a very good suspension lift kit. It gives you 3" and for the price of $744 it is a good deal.

hey PanamaRed, check out my post on the 5.5inch lift kit for the 4th gen i just used 2 different spacer kits. i got a total of 5.5 inches in the front and 3 in the back. looks o.k. front is one inch higher than the back. and i didn't spend 1600.00. probably 400.00. check it out and let me know what you think.

2 spacer kits...? What type of shocks have you used? With more then 4" you'll be killing your CV angles.

not just the CVs, gonna break the balljoints on the control arm plus the coils are under tons of stress, they are under stress with one spacer, putting two spacers is crazy

Looking at the other thread I mentioned that his 4Runner is 2WD, so no front diff and driveshafts.

Yes. Both vehicles share the same architecture.
