Overland Trip to Utah in October
@ UncleBoobers
and I are seriously considering another trip to the Moab region in mid-October. I am want to take a poll and see if any 4runner forum members would like to join us. We would be leaving from Chicago but people can meet us in Moab or along the way. We will be filming the entire trip to make a new series of youtube videos. We will pick trails that are moderate in difficulty and we are seriously considering the White Rim Trail but we would have to wait and see what the total interest is because Im pretty sure we would only be able to get limited permits. Let me know if you are interested.

Man I would love to do this but was planning on going during Thanksgiving for some 4x4 and mountain bike action. White Rim trail is really beautiful but its basically just a fire road. Definitely check out Hells Revenge and Fins n Things. You guys will have no problem doing those and they are more interesting.

We did Hell's revenge at night during Cruise Moab. This is going to be another scouting trip before bringing our families along next summer. We were in the area twice this year but still have a long list of trails and areas that we want to see. We are publishing videos to youtube right now about our last two trips. Check out Overland Family Expeditions on youtube or Facebook. We have published the trailer and first video of a 9 video series. Thanks for your feedback. I will let you know if the dates change to November.

I would love to go along with you all the way from Chicago, unfortunately I have other plans for October.
Your trip next summer sounds more promising for me, as I was tentatively planning on going to Moab next year sometime.

Nothing is etched in stone. The dates of a planned trip are very flexible. I would just love to get a big group of T4R guys together for a trip to Moab or several other destinations. Guys, give me feedback, let me know what works. I would even like to get a group together in Chicago and we could go to the UP in Michigan. Bring wives/kids etc... Very family friendly event.

I was toying with the idea of a trip in October. Let me know the details you have planned. I'm in Vegas so I'd just meet you there.

I've been researching Hole in the rock trail from Moab to Lake Powell. Looks interesting.

I'll be in Moab mid October. No interest in being on YouTube though.
What permits do you need?

Just finished up a Moab trip this week. White Rim was awesome. Labryinth was the best campground IMO, be sure to stay there at least one night. It is possible to drive the whole trail in one day 8am to 6pm. Elephant Hill is a great trail as well. I did it in one day but when I go back I'll stay overnight for sure.

Hole in the rock is one I have been interested in trying out. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
