My 4runner just died (lower ball joint, just too many other problems to sink more money into it) so I am out of the group...until I get another one.

Probably getting another 3rd or 4th gen.

My despair is infinite

Anyone up for a trip to the Cliffs or Badlands in the next couple of weeks?

Ever since getting back from Drummond I have quite the itch to scratch...

Oh I’m definitely down! Badlands is a drive but so worth it. I’m down for either though.

If you’re thinking a week day then badlands it is. Cliffs is only open on the weekends and is always so rutted out. I wish they maintained it better. Post a few dates that work for you.

Sounds good, I can always take a day off with a bit of planning and the lil guy is back in Daycare now, so my M/W/Fs are pretty open, especially M/F. I'll look up some dates and throw something out there.

Sounds good! I’m okay with the weekend too if that’s better. I just have to plan ahead with my schedule as well.

I have a few friends wanting to get out again so we may be able to put something together with a small group if you’re down. My friends are a lot of talk though. My saying to them...put your mud where your mouth is.

Ha! Yea, there's a guy down the street from me, has a brand new Voodoo Blue TRD Pro Tacoma, says he has no intention of going off road cause he "doesn't want to mess it up"... I mean... the premium you get gouged on for a Pro... coulda bought a Z71 Colorado and an ATV for that price premium, or just a regular Tacoma if you have to stay with Toyota.

Really?!? I guess people buy the TRD Pro so Toyota is doing something right there but a premium like that surely deters people from taking their new rig out.

I love the “don’t want to break anything” excuse. I have so many friends with lifted jeeps who don’t want to break their rig...they may be on to something with their Jeep. Haha.

My 11 year old, 115,000 mile Runner has yet to break anything. No one is looking to destroy their rig.

My friend in the pic I posted from Badlands with the white runner just had it vinyl wrapped so now he won’t go so he doesn’t mess up this vinyl...Northern Illinois 4Runner Group

Yea. I shouldn't be too surprised, I came from sports cars, Camaros most recently, and my 6th Gen SS was on track the summer after I picked it up and raced 8-10 times every summer. Yet it was impossible to get anyone else from the forums to head out there with me, same reason. I maybe understand it a LITTLE more with sports cars, doing some off roading isn't quite the same as apexing at 85 at the limit of traction with a wall on your drivers side as you're accelerating out and down the front straight to 110. Of course, you could always just not go that fast too and still have a hell of a time.

Hell, this TRD Pro was out at Silver lake the day after the temp tag came off it, and I'm completely OCD about keeping things pristine, but there's NO reason, in my opinion, to buy a 4Runner if it's not leaving pavement.

Ok, throwing out October 3rd as the date to get these rigs some mud time.

Who's in?

Badlands Off Road Park is located in Attica, IN - shop our large online inventory | badlandsoffroad.com

Looks like they are running till 11pm on the 3rd so everyone that has enough light bars to recreate a Close Encounters of the Third Kind scene can put them to actual use!

Sorry for the delay! Something’s wrong with my notifications through the app here and I didn’t even see your post.

I’m looking into that date right now. I have promotional testing at work that’s consuming all my time right now so I may have to wait until mid October to get all that business out of the way. I’ll see what I can cram in the next few days here. I’m dying to get out and I can listen to my study materials on the long drive soooo...
