Washington off-roading.

I just moved to Kent, WA and I’m looking for trail info. In Colorado we had a few options that would describe trails/document them. Trailsoffroad.com has a few for out here. What do you locals use?

PM Me if you want some info. Like most boards, you probably won't get a lot of "secrets" given out here. There's a ton of stuff. Just depends on your desire and risk aversion.

Every first Saturday of the month Quadrapaws Offroad club has an event at Tahuya, near Belfair, Wa. Tahuya is a great place to get your feet wet.

There are a ton of forest service roads that you can stay on for days if you choose just be careful sometimes the bridges and roads are completely wiped out by floods. If you're into more serious off roading there are a few ORV parks or you can head down to the Tillamook forest in OR for some trails.

Some Forest Service Roads will appear on Google Maps. Be sure to download "Offline Maps" before heading out. Also, in the PNW, Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular work best in the Cascade mountains. I use a cellphone booster on top of Verizon. It's very rare I do not have service. I usually have internet access where no one even has 1x service. I also have a Garmin GPS with topo maps loaded.

Everything the others have mentioned are great places to start. Central Washington has a lot of good forest roads to roam around.

Olympic National Park has good spots as well.
NWJeepn has some good info as well.

Check out Walker Valley ORV Park in Mt. Vernon or Elbe Hills ORV. Lots of trails there to play on.

Thanks for all the tips! I’m not into crazy off-roading/smashing stuff but I like to avoid the crowds and hit some fun trails and get away for the weekend to camp

Tahuya would be a great start. Avoid going through the lake area. Some spots are deeper than others.

I live in Renton and have gone out to Tahuya a couple times. I have also stumbled upon a couple forest roads that where fun to explore. This weekend I'm planing on going up to walkers valley this weekend to check it out. I have searched for off road groups but it seems to be kinda hit or miss for the most part for me

I ended up going out to long beach Wa. Apparently there is 28 miles of beach you can drive on but I believe the majority of it is just hard pack sandWashington off-roading.-20180219_092014-jpgWashington off-roading.-20180219_090646-jpg

How is Manastash ridge for a complete noob? I’ve been in that area on foot and saw quite a few dirt roads and even more Jeep trails...
