Hey guys,
There hasn't been any talk of putting one together for this year, I think @carlos.elmotor is pretty buried with general life stuff to plan anything (let me know if I'm wrong on that)...
I'm going to be doing the Kentucky Adventure Tour in late October and won't be able to focus on this until after, but should be able to put something together - worst case, we can rehash some of the trails from last year... at least we'd be getting out and having some fun! It's the only time I get to see some of you (and it's always fun meeting new people too).

Thanks for the call-out @gfxcruncher -- Other than holidays or vacation time, I'm pretty much never able to keep up with the forum these days.

@WeedKillrr - Looks like this was the winter 2018/2019 trip thread. We did one last year (2019/2020 trip) and every year I end up saying "this was fun, but it's my last year."

With the current COVID-19 shitshow here in the US, I'll definitely be skipping this year. That is, unless by some miracle a demonstrably safe/effective vaccine is out and available.

COVID-19 notwithstanding, the truth is that I keep hoping that @gfxcruncher and some of the other Outbound Overland regulars will pick up the mantle of coordinating and leading the winter trip.

It takes a considerable amount of effort to coordinate an event like this and every year it's increasingly difficult to steal the coordination time away from other priorities that are always on the to-do list, yet never actually done.

I recommend following @gfxcruncher and PMing him several times a week to follow up with him until he starts the official thread for this year's trip... heh.

Also, tagging @BrockSamson257 FYSA since it's taken me over 3months to reply to your PM. Sorry for the lag bud and hope to see you out on the trail sooner rather than later

@WeedKillrr no need to pm me several times a week. Thanks @carlos.elmotor sheesh...

I'll commit to putting something together for this years trip, with my situation, it's no problem. It's a nice change from my usual routine of solo stuff and the crew I typically hang with.

WeedKillrr - feel free to shoot me a PM. I see you're in NOVA too, we could meet up and/or head out some weekend. I usually get out twice a month or so.

Thanks for the tag! Otherwise, like you, I'd never have known this was updated!

There's a lot to consider but I'm out and about on a regular basis by myself usually so for now I'd say tentatively, I'd be down. I'm also in NoVA so if there's any small, socially distanced meet ups I might be able to hit those as well.

@redshift83 ; @gfxcruncher ; @carlos.elmotor Thanks for the replies! I was curious if this was a reoccurring event and was being planned for this year. I have a wheeling trip planned in New England for October and then I'm probably done for this year. I'll tag you guys in the Spring and see if anyone is interested in Big Levels, Potts Mtn, or other local faves.

@gfxcruncher I may be tied up in Dec with parts/installs so it's too early for me to commit to the trip, but I'd be happy to help scout a route or just head out for a day drive. I'll shoot you a PM after I return from my next trip.

@WeedKillrr sounds good, I'm knee deep getting the truck ready for my trip, probably not going to be making it back out until after I return, so that's November...

@jcaino @BrockSamson257 and others, I'll start up a thread beginning of November for this years trip.

Traditionally we've done this the weekend between Christmas and New Years... After having a quick look at the calendar, I see that would be the day after Christmas and will probably not be very convenient for everyone (myself included). Some of the trails I'm thinking of are seasonal and close 1/1. That has me tentatively thinking the second or third weekend in December. Don't hold me to that, we'll see as we get closer. Either way, looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Hi all!

I'm in for the trip and may be available to help scout prior to the trip. The kid's sports are picking up and that could throw a wrench in the plan.
